oa DEDICATION We, the staff co hereby dedicate this edition of the CRIGO to Mr Lyle Loomis, to show our aporec- {ation for the time and energy he has sofreely given to helv meke this, our last vear, the success it has been. Tis issue of the CRIGO is what you might call a condensed version of the yearbooks of the past. It a Cn was decided not to publish the reg- ular yearbook this year, but we felt that some’ kind of publication con- taining information of our school, the classes, and the school activi- ties should be issued. In this is- sue we have put what we - considered the highlights of our 46-47 school year. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we have enjoyed making it. They were Don Ziss, Ward Wenig, Brice Thornton, Henry Shook, Jimmy Schutzberg, Jack Ryder, Donald North, Garold Garrett, Martin Adams, Grace Phillips, Pat- ricia Neal, Marilyn Nicholson, Verna Gibbs, Donna Gibbs, and Dorothy Browne. The following year we gained Marilyn Asmus as the only change in our enrollment. During our third year we lost Marilyn Nicholson and Jimmy Schutzberg who was the nice little boy we all remember who was strick- en with pneumonia. In our fourth year we had the addition of Billy Browning and Martha Ann Watt, and Marilyn Nichol- son returned to us. Ward Wenig left us at this time. In our fifth year we gained Robert Ennis, Franklyn Hummel, Anna Lawrence, and Norma Jean Lee, but lost Martin Adams. Anna Lawrence, Henry Shook, and Norma Jean Lee left us as we entered the sixth grade. In our seventh year our only addition was Laurel Duty; Harold Ragan joined us in our eighth. During our Freshman year we gained a new member, For- est Lee, and two old classmates from back in the grades, Henry Shook and ard Wenig, who came far enough after the beginning of the year to miss that period of time so agon- izing to all Freshmen when the plans are being made for initiation. We spent our Sophomore year working hard, and added a new member, Walter Agler, to our list but lost Harold Ragan and Henry Shook. We gave our first play, Kicked Out of College our Junior year. We were coached by both Mrs. Smith and Mr. Andrews, and helped by Morris Wenig, Loma Robertson, Suir- ley Heiman, Bernita Noward, and Dennis Sergent. Our first formal occasion was the banquet given at the Women'ts Club in Toledo in honor of the Seniors. Other occasions of im- portance in this full year were our part in the Baccalaur- eate and Commencement services. This last year of our high school training has been a busy time. We presented our Senior play, “Lunatics at Large ,’ April 11, 1947. We have been planning and working eagerly all year to enable our class to take a trip to Washington D. C. At this time we want to give our sifttere thanks to the community for being so very cooperative in making this trip possible. Thomas Dauer also entered our class this year. SENIOR CLASS WILL We, the Senior Cisse of 1947, being nhysically sound and mentally weak. being on the . verge of de varture forever from our beloved High School life, do set ovr seel ta this as our last will and testament. To those who mav benefit from this vaner , we would request but one thing: Think very seriously before discarding these bequests; they may someday prove to you, as for- merly they have to us, ; clessing in disguise. The disvosition of all our tressurec earthly vos sessions is to be as follows: Frankiyn Hummel leaves his “mighty vitchin' arm to Bob Eckel, in hoves that he will now teke uo where Percy has left off. Forest Lee leaves his way with the teachers to Roger Bengtson. (We nity the Faculty.) Don North cheerfully bestows his Bookkeening Practice Set uvon “rlvn Snvder, with hones thet it may be of use in the future. Pot Neal leaves her sentlé soprano voice to Loma Rob- ertson, to be used for the first time at Commencement. Don Ziss leaves his skill at bluffing to Raymond Por- ter, to be used to the verv best advantaze. Jack Ryder leaves his tendency towards having fits in Study Hall to Henry Wauters, in hones that he learn the trade. On a dey 20 years efter your graduation, we deci- ded to pey vou e visit just to find out how you were getting elong in your professions. We had heard ebout the unusuel display window of Tiedtke! s so to setisfy our ar we decided to visit the place, It was unusual, all right! The win- dow displayed a becroom, and who should be trying the Fores: Lee Fancy Soft Mettress out for comfort, but Forest Lee himself. Isnit thet just like him, alweys taking it easy. We decided we would go in, ‘ho knows? We might even meet some more of our old friends, Stepping through the revolving doors, opereted by hot air from the pastry and aregord departments, the strengest music filled our ears. It wes organ music, but I couldn't auite figure out the tune, Remembering thet Dorothy Browiie used to play the orgen at the Fed- erated Church in Heskins, we decided to ask the man over eat the 10¢ photogrepny booth, for he looked intelligent, if it wes reelly Dorothy. Not more surprises the in- telligent-looking man was 2rice Thornton and bel leve sit or not, he was still in the photography business. We thought his sign wes very clever, which reed: Flashy Fotos, You furnish the Pace; we'll fix the figure! Never feel foolish--Flash a Flashy Foto, =. . Thornton, Proprietor, Price wes: just telling us of a few inter- esting pleces we might like to visit when the orgenist led off with e Lively version of I Wish I Wes Single Again , and two girls dressed in green tights with blue blouses trivoped onto the belcony, They began dancing and singing like mad! We asked Frice ae they, and he told us they were the Gibbs twins. Also, he told us Donna wes married to Walter Agler end Verna was merried to Lowell Brown- es was expected. Continuing on our journey we came to the bekery, which I mentioned before, All of us spoke ebout how good Tiedtke's baked goods wes, but there never seemed to be enough of it, Fut now we Bee eee vane why. The voice sound- ed familiar, so we ventured: over to find out if we were right; Yes, it wes Tom Dauer, It smelled iike a 10% per- fume fectory sround there, Feering we might become nau- seated, we moved on, We decided to take the escaletor end look around a bit upsteirs, We noticed a man riding ahead of us, He was so big and strong, end yet, he seemed to be enjoying the ride as much es a little kid. We laughed about it end wondered if he would still be riding when we came beck, We disregarded the thought when another thing met our eyes, It seems thet Tiedtke's thought Walter Ag- ler would be the ideel person to model their dresses for short, stocky girls, My, but they know how to pick ‘em! Going on into the Men's Clothing pert, we found Bob Ennis es the chief suit end pants man. Whet a seles-— talk he hed! And cen you believe it? He still wiggled his foot the seme wey when he telked as he did in the good old school days, A flash of red heir called our attention to Pat Neal, working in the foundation germents department. We hur- ried over to see her and she was able to break evey from her work long enough to tell us that she was merried to Gerold Gerrett, and that he was the menicurist et the beeuty selon there et Tiedtke's, “he ssid she felt she could trust him thet fer nov, Riding down the esceletor we saw that seme big guy egain, We just couldn't resist, so with the cxcuse that we didn't know where the Farm Implements Department was, we tepped him on the shoulder, He turned around with a big grin on his face, and can you imegine? It was Duck Ziss, We hed just gotten into-a nice friendly little chat with him when we heerd the most terrible recket egain. Duck told us it wes just Coon demonstreting his new porte- ble recore-pleyer, end at the same time trying to outdo Frankie , As he walked by us it was the old organ-grine er, all he ltecked was the monkey on his shoulder, We had to get ewey from thet, 60 we went to the Farm Impiements Department et the basement floor, And there was Frenk Hummel, testing the ebility of a new meke of tractor, He was prectically ripping the plsce apart. It wes so noisy down there you couldn(t heer yourself think, Glad to get ewsy from thet hullabeloo, we mede our way beck upstairs, Teking time out we peused at the complaint department, Merilyn Asmus wes behind the bers, and brother, could she teke cere of her customers!
