The Reception for the New Hasklell Staff On the beautiful, cool evening' of September 19, l967, a reception was held at 8:00 p.m. in Sacaiawea Hall to honor the new staff members. All the staff and faculty, including their husbands and wives, were invited to greet and welcome the new staff members. Mr. Sidney Carney, a l939 graduate of Haskell, who serves as the new Director of Anadarko, Oklahoma, Office was the honored guest for the evening. A retired staff member, Mrs. Margaret Sanders, who had been a member of the BIA for 30 years, received a Certificate of Meritorious Service and a cash award for superior performance. Superintendent Thomas Tommaney presented these awards. s rTo conclude the delightful evening, punch and cookies were served by Miss Mae Flanigan and Mrs. .lack Mauterer, from a table which was beautifully decorated with autumn colors. Administration, Personnel and De- partment Heads, who were host and hostesses for the event, 'assisted with the serving. As the reception came to a close, all the staff members were more confident that working to prepare-the students for the years ahead would be much easier be- cause of cordial staff relations. i 6
