12 ep ThaPep Clug that'yellow-j ketedn group of girls of H.R.H.S. has had an all-around good year. At the first of tha year the group became organized and with Beth Bruce and Pearl Marie Riggin ascheerleaders and with the beginning of the first Harveyville football season in over ten years, they went into action. After the football season, the club was reorganized, a new ommstitution adopted, and the cheerleading section was enlarged from tvo to three members. after securing new uniforms and acquiring many aches and pains, the new cheer leaders were ready to lead the Pep Club on a cheering spree equalled only by the brilliant record of the nYellowjacketn teams. The group attended many out of town games as well as the county and district tournements, retaining their interest and enthusiasm throughout the season. Officers for the past year have been: President, Barbara Hallerg Vice-President, Jo Ann Van Petteng Secretary and Treasury, Myrna Marrs. The Pep Club is sponsored by Miss Caldwell and Miss Doyle. Qam! One of the most important extra-cirricular activities in our school system is music. One division of this, the band, is composed of those budding young musicians who desire to play an instrument purely for enjoyment. Due to the necessity of leading the parade at the Grange Fair in September, and the early commencement of the football season here, the band was rushed into public performances after only a few practices. The change from playing at these games to that of playing at basketball games was made almost immediately. At the finish of our home basketball season, the group commenced practice on some numbers for the music contest held in March. The remaining time was spent in preparation of numbers for Baccalaureate and Com encement. As is the case every year, we have several beginners who practice faithfully and have weekly lessons so that they may soon be playing with the band. The band is under the direction of miss Marjorie Doyle, supervisor of mus c. Glzeer :leaders
