Chorus Chosen To Go To Europe This past year has been a very exciting year for the HHS Chorus. At the beginning of the year the music department received word that the chorus had been chosen to participate in the Festival of Three Cities in Europe. This would include a three-week trip to Europe where our chorus would join with musical groups from the entire world to enjoy and study music. Soon after this news was heard, a forty-eight member choir was chosen to attend this event. Throughout the remainder of the year the chorus with the help of the community worked on many fund-raising projects. Hard work was not only put into pro- jects, but also into the many songs and musical selections practiced. In addition, the chorus found time to present numerous concerts, participate in contest, and other musical events. CHORUS, 1 to r: ROW 1: D. Olson, M. Weinmann, S. Frey, D. Hoffart, D, Lesmeister, S. LOCKREM GROCERY AND OIL Dinner Theater On December 9 and 10 the HHS Music Department presented a dinner theater. It took place in the band room which was decorated in Renaissance style. The evening began with a dinner served by candlelight which set the mood for this production. Next the Madrigal Singers per- formed music from the Renaissance Period and some Christmas songs. Following this the chamber choir presented the Christmas opera, Amahl and the Night Visitors. The characters were as follows: Mother - Nancy Krohn; Amahl - Huey Farrington; the three kings - Bruce Tofteland, Kelly Krohn, Ken Putz; Page - Monte Faul; and the shepherds - performed by the Chamber Choir. Remember September's Homecoming Of 72 N The theme for the 1972 Home- coming was Remember September. The colors were orange, yellow, and brown. Activities included a parade, snake dance, downtown pep rally, tug-of-war, coronation, football game, and dance. At the coronation, Marilyn Johnson sang Try to Remember and was accompanied by Nancy Krohn. Then 1971 Queen Bonnie Martin crowned Shelley Solberg as our 1972 Homecoming Queen. The rest of the court was composed of Susan Richardson, Leah Wollenburg, Owen Faul, Kent Lestmister, Bruce Bentz, Mike Sanders, and our foreign exchange students, Elly Zanteman and Martin Kammar, who were honorary guests. Climaxing the spirited week on Friday, September 22, students who endured the fairly nice weather watched the Harvey Hornets go against the Park River Aggies. Al- though we were ahead until the last 8 seconds, we lost by a touchdown which resulted in a score of 22-28. To supplement the evening, the Homecoming Dance was a success. The Gravel Road provided music which everyone enjoyed. The evening ended as a night to re- member in September. 1972 Queen Shelley and escort Owen Pictures donated by Miller's Studio 48 Princess Susan and escort Kent Princess Leah and escort Bruce 1971 Queen Bonnie and escort Mike Honorary Guests Elly and Marty 49 Happiness Is: The seventh annual Snofest was held on January 25 thru 27 with Kandis Liebelt and Mike Richter reigning as King and Queen. Junior candidates for queen were Darla Senney and Carla Kessler; for king, Scott Swang and Ken Putz. The other two Senior candidates were Dianna Schmaltz and Dave Seltvedt. There was not enough snow this year for sculptures, but we were able to replace them with class banners. The freshman took first place with their Raggedy Ann and Andy. On Saturday night we won our game with Belcourt with a score of 87-63. The highlight of the activities was the dance with Swift Current playing. 50 HARVEY MOTOR SERVICE Sno-Fest Activities LEFT: An ending and a beginning with 1972 King Kenny and Queen Kathy and 1973 royalty King Mike and Queen Kandis.
