U ’ ■ - . ' •; • f . . -: -i . HARVEY HIGH SCHOOL HARVEY NORTH DAKOTA Dedication It is with gratitude and respect that we dedicate our 1972 Hornet to Superin- tendent Bernum M. Hanson, who is retiring after 23 years of service to the Harvey community. Mr. Hanson came to the Harvey school system in 1949 from Galesburg, North Dakota. At that time, there were 18 teachers and about 400 students in the ele- mentary and high school. Mr. Hanson has witnessed the growth of the school en- rollment to 1083, requiring 56 teachers. He supervised the construction of the addition to the elementary school in 1961 and the new high school in 1968. We wish to acknowledge Mr. Hanson's many contributions to improving the quality of education in our school system and express our deep appreciation to him for all he has done. If a man does not keep pace with his companions perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away. Junior Play Under the direction of Wright Han- son (pictured at right) the Junior Class presented RUBBERNECK. The play was about an eccentric old man (Uncle Elewyn) who runs for mayor for 14 years and continually looses. Finally the head of the household refuses to let him run again. To teach the apathetic city a lesson, the family supported a stuffed dummy. The popularity of the dummy forced the father to actually run for mayor. As Uncle Elewyn's luck would have it, Father won. This convinced Elewyn he should run for the senate, so the campaign cycle started again! 58 Sr. Class Play It's Great To Be Crazy 60 I PLAY CAST: J. Keller, S. Kukow- ski, K. Martin, B. Martin, C.
