y Looking North on Lincoln Avenue during the Christmas season, 1968. The city of Harvey has had continuous GROWTH since it's establishment in 1894, when the Soo Line was built. It has become the leading retail center of a large area, growing to the present population of approximately 2500. The Harvey Public School has also experienced continual GROWTH since it's first graduating class ol 1907, con- sisting of 2 members compared with the class of 1969 which consists ol SO students. The school district has also grown; when it first began, it was known as the Common School District 38; then it reorganized to become known as the Special School District 38; and today it's called the Harvey Public School District 38. The first school consisted of the city of Harvey only, then in the 1940's, the district grew to contain 25 sections, com- pared with 384 sections today. The District operates 13 bus routes, which travel over 200,000 miles per year delivering students. The district plans to open it's new high school in the fall ol 1969. 6

School Board Berger Rodne, L. C. Loerch, Mrs. Rosella Harr, Willis Faul, Robert Brower, and Duane Akers. Area GROWTH and an increase in school enrollment, forced the Harvey Public School Board to plan for the opening of the new high school in the fall of 1969. Throughout the year the school board works earnestly for the welfare of the Harvey community, and to provide for the well-being of the students of the Harvey School.
