In October delegates were sent to the North Dakota Student Council Convention held in Jamestown. This spring a Bermuda Day was sponsored by the Student Council; students were permitted to wear Bermuda shorts to school on condition that they purchase a license from the Student Council. Those who didn't have a license were subject to punishment by a Kangaroo Court. The Student Council, our newest organization, has put up a suggestion box to be used by the students of Harvey High and has generally tried to represent the students throughout this past year. Queen Cynthia presided over the Homecoming parade and made her Royal Entrance at the annual Homecom- ing dance. The dance followed our victory over Carrington, 7-0. 56 Hornet Hilarities The 1964 Hornet Hilarities was sponsored by the Student Council. The skits were entered into three categories, classes, organizations, and individual. The winners in these divisions were: Classes, Sopho- more Class, Stevie Wonder Boy; Organizations, Sci- ence Club, Mr. Lartz on Trial; and Individual, Trumpet Trio, consisting of Roger Bishop, Tom Roble, and Glenn Malke. 57 Seniors Present Are Teachers Human? The action of Are Teachers Human? centers on Edward Fowler and Arbutis Meadows. Fowler is the young and brand new principal at Central High, and Arbutis is the younger and equally new English teacher. They are both strongly determined to win success in their new posts and they encounter many obstacles along the way. The complications begin when Arbutis selects as the Senior Play she is to coach, a poetic tragedy written by Hortense Anderson in free verse. Further difficulties arise from the triangle-like situation among Fowler, Arbutis, and Dolores Stone, daughter of C. Solomon Stone, tyrannical head of the local school board. Also competing for Arbutis's attention is the football coach, Mike Lang, who goes to great lengths to keep Puddenhead Pye eligible for the team. 58 CAST Betty Gregg......... Liza Felton......... But it doesn't work and the only result was jeopardizing her father's job at the bank. Mrs. Dolson gets a Prom date for her daughter with Freddie Shemer, who is a perfectly nice boy, except for the fact that he wears knickers. Hildegarde tries desperately to find a way out of the date. But Freddie's father is Mr. Dolson's boss and her parents forbid it. Many ridiculous episodes happen until Freddie finally reaches his goal for the Prom... . long pants! CAST Hildegarde..........
