 THIS IS HOW YOU DO XT. Our basketball coach, Bob Peterson, teaches a variety of subjects including geography, law, U. S. History, chemistry and sone of the boys' P.E classes. He has done a good job with our basket- ball team this year. He is the senior class ad- viser. Bob Meads, our foot ball coach, teaches world history, speech, journalism, and some of the boy's phy ed classes. He also has done a fine job of coaching Harvey's football team. He is the Hor- nets' Buzz adviser. Richard Westlake teaches eighth grade geog- raphy and history; eighth grade science and geo- graphy, English, and our state; and freshmen En- glish and literature. Mr. Westlake replaced Wil- liam Zimmer who ente’-ed military service in March. Cur Home Ec teacher. Miss Jeannine Hierath, has taught three years in Harvey. She is F.H.A. adviser. She also has the tough job of supervis- ing the prom. Mrs. Harriet Burchill teaches eighth grade math and is in charge of the grade music. Frank Bishop has been teaching Agriculture in Harvey for the past three years. He also is in charge of the Adult Evening School, and is F.F.A. adviser. HANSON SUPERINTENDENT Our superintendent, Mr. Hanson, will long be remembered by those who have gone through the halls of Harvey High. His fine leadership, co-operation and friendly attitude has truly raised the standards of our school. We realize that with- out his guidance we could not have such a fine school. Miss Haugaard, our school principal, is a fine example in the class room and also in the community. With her help- ful co-operation and leadership, she has accomplished many wonderful things in our school. She has guided the young people who have gone to Harvey High School to a better way of life. Our commerce teacher this year is Miss Mar- lene Schaap. She teaches shorthand, typing, and bookkeeping. She is also assisting in the library. Mrs. Helen Backen has seventh grade health science, literature, and math. She also teaches eight grade spelling. Our music teacher, Richard Novotny, has been teaching in Harvey for the last two years. He does a good job of directing the band, glee clubs, and mixed chorus. He taught a new subject in Harvey th's year which is Spanish. He also teaches the eighth grade literature. Wilhelm Anderson teaches a variety of sub- jects including junior business, sophomore and senior English and U.S. history. He is one of the advisers for the prom and junior and senior plays. Paul Steen teaches math, which includes al- gebra, physics and geometry , He was in charge of the Home-Coming activiti'es and also is time keeper at the basket ball games. Richard Septon is Harvey s science teacher this year. He also teaches sophomore English. He is junior and senior play adviser and also helps with the junior-senior prom.
