28 Seniors Elizabeth: Smiles from Norway Hi, I am Oddveig Elizabeth, but as my name turned out to be rather difficult for my American friends to pronounce, it ended up with Elizabeth. Coming from Norway, fclose to the North Polel everybody expected me to be accustomed to very cold weather. But as a matter of fact the winter temperature in Norway is very much the same as in Painesville, although we have a lot more snow fbut no Polar Bears walking in the streetsj. My home in Norway is situated in Nissedal, a small village in Western Telemark, approximately 150 miles south-west of Oslo. Living on a farm, with lots of space, I have always enjoyed outdoor life. In the summertime I do quite a bit of hiking in mountains and forests, while cross country skiing is my favorite winter activity. My family in Norway consists of mom, dad, and my sister who is 10 years older than me and a teacher at a secondary school. This year I am staying with the Marples. They are such warm and close people, I just love them like my real family back home. My experience here has been the greatest in my life, because of all the wonderful people I have met. I enjoy myself at Harvey, the teachers as well as the students are all so friendly and they together with my family helped me to adjust very easily. During my stay I have observed how concerned the teachers at Harvey are with the students. I think it is really great to have such a good student-teacher relationship. I know it will be hard to part with my friends, but I do hope that some of you get to come to Norway someday. And to me Painesville will no more be only a spot on the map, but it means so much more because of all the nice people I have got to know.
