To You, Mr. Smith Year after year the students, teachers and administration of Harvey High have been able to depend upon your willing help to keep the school program moving steadily forward. Your patience in teaching the theories of physics and chemistry encouraged us to keep on trying to master these subjects. Your guiding hand has aided our Stu- dent Court. We, like generations of Harvey stu- dents, affectionotely refer to you as Dale R. Smith. We, the Senior Class of 1956, dedicate our yearbook to you, Mr. Smith - teacher, counselor, friend.

MR. ROBERT B. OLDFATHER Superintendent To the Members of the i956 Graduating Class:-- You now possess a certain amount of valuable knowledge, but as you move on you will find that knowledge is not enough. Man today has the knowledge to blow him- self to pieces but spiritually he can find no way to put together the broken pieces of humanity. Much of our knowledge is of material purpose and not spiritual value. You must learn how to live or your education will be in vain. The purpose of your education and training at Harvey High School was to help make you better citizens, better men and women, and better and more useful mem- bers of the human race. We have given you knowledge, but knowledge in itself is not enough. The rest you must supply in your own way and l hope all of you will find the proper way to do this. Congratulations to each of you for reaching this goal, high school graduation, Behind the fundamental operation of Harvey High School is the Paines- ville City School Board. The group serves without pay, giving much of their time for the welfare of the schools and the community.
