The Executive Board ARTHUR EUGENE FRENCH, JR., President KENNETI1 DOUGLAS ROBINSON, Vice-President TIENRY GREENE CROSBY, Secretary- Treasurer ALBERT GOODNVILL CHURCHILL, Editor-in-Chief of RED BOOK. RICIIAIID ARNOLD STOUT, Chairman Editorial Committee of .RED BOOK. VVILLIAM STERLING XIOUNGMAN, Chairman Business Committee of RED BOOK. JOHN DEl.,xI'rTRE, Chairman Photographaphie Committee of RIGID BOOK. GOODE PAsoH.xLLE IJAVIS, Chairman Arts and Cuts Committee ol' RED BOOK. JOHN TUDOR, Chairman Jubilee Committee. EDWARD TVILLIAM SEXTON, Chairman Smoker C0llllllltt0C. CEIARLES Mfllqlhl NORTON, Chairman Entertainment Committee. TFINSLOXV CARLTON, Chairman Finance Committee. N the Executive Board is vested the governing power of the Freshman Class. Composed of the elected officers, the Editor of the RED BOOK, and the eight committee chairmen, the Board governs all general policies and activities. As a umt, it directs the Class, while its i1Idividual members act independently, per- forming and superintending the tasks undertaken by their respective depart- ments. Responsibility is thus distributed, but at the same ti1IIe the entire Class organization is centered in the Executive Board, making it the recognized head of the Class. All Inembers of the Board, with the exception of the Class Officers, are appointed directly by the President. The Board then elects its Committees, which assures complete eo-ordination in the work of all groups, a result rarely obtained in the past when tlIe entire committees were selected by the three chosen represeIItatives. The regular weekly meetings of the Board are devoted to the general welfare Oi' the Class, to the reports of the various Committees, and to whatever sugges- tions may prove beneficial i1I handling Class activities. The Executive Board, then, manages tlIe Class interests, although it is by no means a despotic body. It is Silllply the governing group, which actspin. a .truly democratic fashion, serving to connect the Freshman Class with the University. Favoritism is abolished, with the result that a smoothly running, well directed Class organization is created and Inaintained. l21l
