In this century, following the Pasteurian revo¬ lution and the discovery of the vitamins and other essential nutrients, external factors have dominated our thinking on infectious and non- infectious diseases. I believe that we are entering a phase of Public Health when more than lip service will be paid to the inter¬ action of constitutional and environmental factors.
