Moore: Goals for MCH may not be identical, but should be similar from one country to another. Un¬ doubtedly there will be a time difference in the attainment of these goals. The schedule for the in¬ dustrialized countries will be more advanced than ones for developing nations. Strong leadership must come from the countries with abundant resources while the others will have to be careful not to adopt inapplicable or inefficient techniques. Schmidt: No group of countries has a monopoly of leadership, and I believe all societies place a high value on the health and welfare of mothers and We can’t continue like this. Governments are showing increasing rec¬ ognition of the problem of inadequacies of health and social services and are expanding their efforts to cope with it.
