The Professor clerked for judge Walter A. Huxman, U, S. Court of Appeals, 10th Circuit in 1955-56, and was associated with Gibson, Dunn 8: Crutcher in Los Angeles before joining the Kansas faculty. In 1961, Professor Logan and Professor Leach collaborated on Iifzlfzre Ifzfererfr :md Ermle Plfrmzing, and he has also penned law review articles in the Corporations, Property, and Estate Planning areas. MILTON KATZ Henry L. Stirnron Proferror of Law, Director of International Legal Stndier, and Direetor of the International Program in Taxation. In 1950-51, Professor Katz was United States Representative in Europe, with the rank of Ambassador, and as such, served as chief of the Marshall Plan in Europe. Concurrently, he was the senior American delegate to the United States Economic Commission for Europe. He was Associate Director of the Ford Foundation from 1951 to 1954, and is currently trustee or director of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, the World Peace Foundation and the International Friendship League. Since 1939, when he joined the faculty, Mr. Katz has written Carer and Materialr in Adrniniitrative Law, co-authored Tloe Law of International Transactions and Relations, and edited Government Under Law and the Individual. ROBERT ERNEST KEETON Proferior of Law Professor Keeton was engaged in private practice in Houston, Texas, until the outbreak of World War II. From 1945 to 1945, he was Flag Secretary to Rear Admiral Mullinnix and Assistant Flag Secretary to Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz. After the war, he resumed private practice, specializing in per- sonal injury and insurance litigation. Prior to his appointment to the Law School faculty in 1954, he was an Associate Professor at Southern Methodist University. Mr. Keeton is Adviser to the Reporter on the Restatement of Torts Second. He has written Trial Taetirr and Methods, Baile Infuranre Law, and has co-edited Carer and Material: on the Lau' of Torti. He is on leave for the first semester, 1961-62. WALTER BARTON LEACH Story Professor of Law After graduating from the Law School, Professor Leach clerked for Mr. justice Holmes, and then practiced in Boston. In 1929, he was appointed to the faculty. He has also taught at Oxford, the University of Colorado, and Northeastern University. The Pro- fessor is a Brigadier General, USAFR Qretj, and a Consultant to the Air Force. Mr. Leach has contributed to the Restatement of Pro erty and the American Law of Property. JOHN HOWARD MANSFIELD Proferror of Law Professor Mansfield was Shaw Travelling Fellow in History during 1952-53. After receiving his LL.B. from Harvard in 1956, he served for one year as law clerk to Mr. justice Traynor of the Supreme Court of California, and in 1957, performed similar Zervices for Mr. justice Frankfurter of the United States Supreme ourt. Mr. Mansfield joined the Law School faculty as an Assistant Professor after his year of clerking for justice Frankfurter. In 1961, he received his appointment as Professor. Currently, Mr. Mansfield is teaching courses in Evidence and Torts. Born: 1928, Morristown, New Jersey. A.B., 19523 LL.B., 1956, Harvard. JOHN THEODORE MCNAUGHTON Proferxor of Law Professor McNaughton is on leave of absence in 1961-62, while serving as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Arms Control. After his graduation from the Law School in 1948, he was a Rhodes scholar, served in the General Counsel's Ofhce of E.C.A. in Paris, and was editor and legal counsel of the Pekin flllinoisj Daily Timer. Since 1957, Mr. McNaughton has been a part-time Assistant District Attorney for the Northern District fMiddlesex Countyj of Massachusetts. The Professor has published Handbook of Marrarburellf Eri- derzre, with Professor Leach, Workbook in judicial Proof, Slate o. Hauplmamz, and 8 Wigmore, Eoidenre QMcNaughton rev. 19611. NORVAL RAMSDEN MORRIS Visiting Proferror of Law This marks Professor Morris' second appearance on the Harvard Law School faculty, as he was Ezra Ripley Thayer Teaching Fellow here in 1955-56. Currently, he is Bonython Professor and Dean of the Law School of the University of Adelaide, in South Australia. Mr. Morris is teaching Criminal Law, Torts, and a seminar on Human Rights and the Criminal Law. Aside from articles in American, English and Australian journals, he has written The Habitual Criminal. The Professor was Chairman of the Royal Commission on Capital Punishment in Ceylon in 1958-59, and was an Australian delegate to the U.N. Conferences on Human Rights and the Criminal Law.
