IQJQ Qgezzzor GQJJ Emp ecy Sagnet Qor Badge 11145 Thrs 15 the crty Harvard lllrnors The year 1969 The purpose of thrs rnvestrgatron IS to trace the events rn the lrves of the members of the class of 1959 lnvestrgatrng offrcers Wack Jebb and Srank Fmrth We started our rnvestrgatron wrth a stroll down the Mrlky Way Our frrst stop was at Barrd s the local hangout Here we encountered Jean Lahman who now rs the pro prretor As we walked rn the door we saw Charles Jordan srttrng at the counter He IS on vacatron from hrs job as a forest ranger We heard the Juke box playmg all of the latest hrts The one played the most was sung by Stanley Hage the newest teen age rdol who records for Jerrold Wagner s record company and rs accompamed by Janet 1F1ngersJ Goodall Another record heard was sung and played by Donny and Dotty Carl son the top Country and Western recordrng stars who record for the Kenneth Bowdrsh Recordrng Company The musrc can be heard all the way up the street to the Rrchard Perry Real Estate offrce where Cmdy Berg strll lookrng for the rrghr man works as secretary On her desk rs a copy of the Harvard Herald now edrted by Kendall Nye By the way we drscovered that Wayne Kleckner rs the chref typesetter for Kendall s paper Davrd Molthen wrrtes a comrc strrp Beetle Barley The headlrnes on the frrst page told us that Jolrta Nolan rs now on her second trrp to Europe She 1S accompamed by Marranne Kleckner and Joyce Krpta who w1l1 be showmg some of Judy Hartman s latest fashron desrgns Judy now works for Sherry LeGrand who manages Vogue maga zrne Another artrcle told us that Frank Whaples has just burlt a bowlrng alley rn Alaska man rs rn Alaska also teachmg the Eskrmos Amerrcan folk songs Alan Yates rs busy developrng antr knock gasolrne for cold weather starttng rn Alaska Under the servrce news we found that Ronme Beckman rs now rn the Coast Guard Jrm Howden rs a prlot rn the Arr Force and Jean Perkrns rs a Drrll Sergeant rn the Women s Marrnes Dennrs Harnes rs now a general who has volumeered to take the frrst trrp to Mars on a spaceshrp whose burldrng was engmeered by Gary Freese Bonrta Mrller who now works for the Unrted States State Department has gone to Russra as Ambassador Her travelrng companrons were Kathleen Hawver Donald Duck and Harvey Pat Drxon who also works for the government as an F B I agent rs now busy workrng on the case of the krdnapprng of Nancy Nelson who was last seen wearrng a Mrnk coat and dramond studded shoes Wlule talkrng to Crndy we learned that Delda Herrxck now wrrtes sadrstrc Jokes for Ed Nolan top TV comedran on Fred Fulton s Wrde Wrde Wrde World Program Also Karen Kretzschmer has made a fortune recordrng her laugh to be used after Ed s jokes After leavrng the real estate offrce we walked to Karen Andrew s Beauty Shoppe to hear the latest gossrp Here we found Patrrcra Brrk who rs now head nurse at the Harvard l-losprtal tellrng of her problems tn takrng care of Jack Wrrth s battered foot ball players Everyone at the beauty parlor was gettmg therr hatr done for the brg dance that nrght whrch featured Robert Ruppert s Jazz Band wrth srnger Ruth Ann Hawver where Pat Gossell is busy teaching the Eskimos how to bowl a 232 game. When we left Karen s we went across the sneer to Marrlyn Aurrnger s Beauty Salon where Pat Colcord works The brg news there was the new musrc academy just opened by Lynn Wenzel Hrs staff rncludes Meredrth Rrngs who wrll teach oboe and Ionr Srn derson who wrll teach bassoon Lynn also wanted to employ Marrlynn Dennrs to teach advanced clarrnet but she had already srgned a contract wrth the Phrladelphra Symphony Orchestra Whrle gazrng out the wrndow we notrced a large neon srgn whrch read Kohley Cavrn Ford Motor Sales Phrl Kohley recently bought half mterest rn the corporatron We also heard that Lana Bopp rs chref saleswoman and Susan McLuen rs head bookkeeper there As we lrfted the telephone to call headquarters we heard the dral tone whrch we later learned was a flute solo played by Connre Pepper Our call was rnterrupted by Ray Ashcraft who was workrng on the telephone lrnes Our next stop was at Sternberg s Department Store whrch rs now managed by Ken neth Hrggrns Iunror There we found Martha Tobrson sellrng luggage Donnalee Mun get rs head of the blouse department Tom Hoey who buys all hrs shrrts there now manages the Dean s Mrlk Plant rn Chemung Kerth Drllon and Don Trebes rake all therr mrlk there Dave Perkrns another local farmer has Gay Backus workrng for htm mxlkrng cows The two local grocery stores Krogers and Natronal are managed by Terry Bopp and Don Ruhff Workrng as head bookkeeper for Terry at Krogers rs Carla Brnder Dorothy l-lollrster and Joan Ruhff work there too as hrs checkers At Don s Natronal Store Vrrgrnra Lenss holds the posrtron of assrstant manager wrth Pat Wrlkrnson and we took a drrve down to Gordon Bates Gas Statron where Pat Haverly works as head mechanrc He told us that Ted Ahrens rs famous for wrnmng the most trophres at Tom Kueck s Drag Strrp Mrke Haverly works for Ted as a starter He also sees to rt that Ted s prrze car gets plenty of gas grease and orl to eat and of course he never forgets that Saturday nrght bath Manufacturrng non blowout trres for Ted rs Bob Dod son who developed hrs secret formula through many valuable years of research Joanne Dooley keeps track of Bob s profrt from these trres The Saunders Theater whrch rs now managed Jorntly by Ruth Reese and Sandy Mc Farlrn rs playrng Snow Whrte and the Seven Dwarfs Thrs rs John Schrlthelm s latest and most promrsrng productron Larry Brumfreld reads the vorce part for one of the dwarfs Whrch one? Stopprng at the Frrst State Bank we found Davrd Tope as presrdent He told us that Eleanor Menge s most recent horse pamtrng had won frrst prrze rn an art contest at Duane Bauman s Art Gallery On our way out of the bank we met Doctor Barbara May nard who rs now a pedratrrcran Whrle we were talkrng wrth her she told us that she recommends all her patients to take therr prescrrptrons to Lyle Larson s Pharmacy He does excellent work and hrs wartress at the fountam Dorothy Goad serves delrcrous sodas and sundaes Our last stop was at the Harvard Hrgh School where Lyle Kleckner rs the present superrntendent He showed us a lrst of hrs farthful faculty On tlus hst we found Jack Busch as wrestlurg coach and Jay Jones and Roger Peterson as the only basketball coaches in the Unrted States who can produce champronshrp teams that wrll score 100 pomts agarnst therr opponent rn the frrst half Many of the students are attendrng the Don Schutt Boys' School where Roy Sternbrecher rs the dean Carol Knull working as checkers.
