121 Message rom the Dean It is a source ot pleasure to me that the editors of this year's Annual Report have highlighted the many aspects ofthe Harvard Business School which are not ordinarily encountered by most students. During the two years of the MBA program it is true that students do not normally come in contact with such activities as The Associates, The Doctoral Program, The Research Division, The Moffett Program, our alumni activities fespecially The June Conferencel or even the newly reorganized Radcliffe Management Training Program. All of these activities are, nevertheless, an integral part of the educational process of the Harvard Business School. It has long been the conviction of this Faculty that we must not only be aware of the challenges that a complex society presents but we must do all that is in our power to meet them. Each of these activities, therefore, is our attempt to meet these challenges and opportunities. The MBA program is the point of departure for each of these activities and at the same time it is the principal beneficiary. The development of the case system never could have reached its present state without the support of The Associates. Much of the strength of the School comes from the continuing exchange ot information between the School and the business community- an exchange which is made possible by the Harvard Business Review, The Alumni Office and such activities as meetings and seminars for groups of educators and businessmen. So long as men work together for common purposes, the skills of the ad- ministrator will be of prime importance. It is our hope that we may continue to teach and to learn how best to maintain and use this vital tool. 16 Q 9
