W. L. Volchenboum Mr. Volchenboum is this year's new upper school principal and Latin f Greek teacher. However, he is not new to Harvard St. George. He has supplied the histori- cal comment, When I was here, boys wore ties and jackets, girls wore dresses and suits. This is in refer- ence to the period of 1964-'65 when he taught Latin at Harvard. During this time he was also working on his M.A. at Loyola University, majoring in philosophy and the classics. Mr. Volchenboum left Harvard the following year to teach at the University of Iowa and the University of Minnesota. In 1970, on a special program, he completed course work toward his Ph. D. at the University of Minnesota. Prom 1970 to 1973, Mr. Volchenboum taught Latin, Greek, and English at Marist High School with school administration work at Loyola. Born and raised in Chicago, Mr. Volchenboum is in- terested in classical music, antiques, cane and rush seat weaving, and in reading Ancient Greek.

She has been with Harvard St. George since the 1962 merger of the two schools. Mrs. Allen has received her Bachelor of Education degree and her Master's degree in guidance and counseling at Chicago State University. She has also taken ad- ministration courses at the Uni- versity of Chicago. Mrs. Allen's spare time is spent sewing, reading, and gardening. Her daughter Lisa Harvard as did her sons, Shawn. X-
