Boys' Basketball TARTING the season with but few regular players, a new basketball team had to be developed. Ralph Brasington, playing his fourth year as captain. did his part well in guiding the new boys to a goal of which the school is proud. A record of eight games won and six lost, and a score of 319 points for Hart- well against 291 points for opponents, is commendable for small Hartwell. Of the boys who formed the basketball team of 1934-1935, R. Brasington. W. Hensley, E. LeRoy, R. Cornn, and D. Benner will not return for a new season. The team of '55-'36 will have as a nucleus R. Hensley, M. Rebholz, H. Williams, G. Depoi, and F. Beaird. Ralph Brasington, already mentioned as captain of this team, is one of the few four letter men in any sport at Hartwell. For four years he has played in true Hartwell style, always striving for victory, but always practicing too the clean methods of play that are required of all athletes at this school. The boys are proud of Ralph as captain, player, and high-point man of the team . First Row LSeatedJ-A. Dorsey, Nl. Calder, T. Godbcy, R. Cloke, G. Spacht, K. Nunn. Second Row QSeatedj-XV. Hensley, R. As to practice games, three were won from and three lost to Mt. Healthy. The team was defeated in the District Tourna- ment because of the absence of several players. Though much is to be desired by Way of improvement in the team, the boys, handicapped as they were in size and number, are to be congratulated for playing as well as they did.
