SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Our last cmd best year at H. H. S. started off with the combining of Uniontown cmd Hartville. We added a few new teachers and lost a few, but everything worked out very well. The next important event was the arrival of our class rings, of which we are very proud. In November, we had our Senior pictures taken. The successful endeavors of the Championship football and basketball teams aided greatly to the contributions of our Senior class. All the years have passed easily and quickly for us but our sponsor has gained a lot of grey hair in the past six years. We have often wondered if Mr. Savage would quit before we were graduated or would go down with the ship like a good Captain should. The class as a whole worked together and at long last arrived at the final port on Graduation Day when with diplomas in hand the crew, some for the first time in twelve years, separated and face a new journey on the Sea of Life. TWELVE YEAR STUDENTS

UNIONTOWN HISTORY UNIONTOWN CLASS HISTORY By Becky Grable In September 1946, eight of the 1958 graduating class of Lake Local High School embarked on the first lap of their journey in formal education from the port of Uniontown school. They were Iim Whittaker, Hugh Wise, Bob Bourn, Vera Miller, Ronnie Miller, Ioan Barta, Kenny Iones and Becky Grable. These little sailors were accompanied by proud mothers who tearfully bid them bon voyage and left them in the hands of the Skipper , Miss Erlewine, who, during the year, skillfully unfolded some of the mysteries of reading, spelling and arithmetic. This group sailed along during the next six years and started their seventh year under the able super- vision of Mr. Witherow. There were twenty-six on board the craft of learning by this time. Bonnie Poe, Lowell Kinsley, Marlene Atkinson, Ianet Matson, Iim Baldinger, Nancy Noel, Rex Diehl, Marsha Orr. Mary Ann Susdorf had joined the crew. On the last lap of the grade school journey eighteen sailed into port. Mrs. Gamble was the skipper and the crew was ably handled by President lim Whittaker, Vice President lim Baldinger, Secretary Bonnie Poe, and Treasurer Ianet Matson. This year Terry Pagna joined the group. Leaving smaller craft behind, the crew now numbering thirty boarded the ship Uniontown High Schoo1. Officers were elected and the journey was started from rank Freshman to Seniors. The 1958 graduates who joined the Freshman crew in 1954 were Pat Gold, Herbert Kiester, Sonny Manno, and Dave Iarvis. The next year still numbering thirty having lost four of the crew but gaining Pat Brown, Dick Mishler, Larry Barnes, Iack Dost and Carlon Howington, the group ranked as sophomores. They were represented in football, basketball, cheerleader and various active groups. Sailing into the Iunior year having lost two and gaining Ina Green twenty-nine crewmen began to feel the pole of rough waters. Money must be made for the Iunior-Senior Prom. Tax Stamps were col- lected, a ham supper was served, newspapers were gathered and candy sold. We were also the first class to make a float for the annual homecoming dance. Our class also sponsored the sweetheart dance. Every- body worked hard. Class officers were President Bob Bourn, Vice President Pat Gold, Secretary Marlene Atkinson, Treasurer Dave Iarvis. Not until the end of the year did the crew learn that this was to be the last sailing from port Uniontown High School. Larger craft was manned and in the fall of 1957 sixteen Uniontown High Seniors joined the ranks of Lake Local High School at Hartville for the last lap of their voyage. Some of their fellow crewmen joined the ranks of Springfield Township High School thus separating a crew that started together eleven years before. Iim Whittaker, Hugh Wise, Bob Bourn, Vera Miller, Ronnie Miller, Lowell Kinsley, Bonnie Poe, Marlene Atkinson, Nancy Noel, Marsha Orr, Terry Pagna. Pat Gold. Sonny Manno, Dick Mishler, Pat Brown, Ina Green and Becky Grable went to Lake Local and Kenny Iones, Ioan Barta, Ianet Matson, lim Baldinger, Mary Ann Susdorf and Dave Iarvis went to Springfield Township High. Ioining forces with the Hartville crew meant combining efforts and the results were gratifying. They were proud that Union- town's Iim Whittaker made All County in sports.
