lunlor Class As school opened the enrollment wa twenty SIX At our frrst class meetlng th followxnq offl ers were appornted Pres1dent Ferman Slabaugh V1ce Pres1dent Lots Wlllrams Secretary Ruh Werten berger Treasurer Ernest Tessmer and Htstonan Dorothy Stutzman At a meetmq a few weeks later we sele ted Mar lone Phrllrps Ernest Tessmer and Don Gosche to represent our class on the student councrl One of our frst events was an 1n1t1at1on for the Pre hmen Th1 year the only punxshment was don durrng school hours and the even1ng was spent 1n a formal 1n1t1at1on of Freshxes and teach ers and also a party On November 30 we held a Bake Sale at I V Berg s We held the flrst skatmq party of the year at Land O Dance rn early fall Lots Wrlllams entertamed the class wtth a party rn her home ln early November Twentytrree class members attended The blqgest enterprrse we undertook was the sale of refreshments at the county tournament Thls was the frrst trme rn the hlstory of our school that lass has ever done thts Thrs work added S100 21 to our treasury Our class play Redhead d Royalty from Arkan was g1ven on February l5 Thrs event also add d to our funds The most 1mportant event n our leaves IS the prom whrcla was held at the Woman s Cluo rn Ma srllon on May 23 Th1s year the decoratrons were carned out rn a m1l1tary manner Drums w1ll serve as center preces and red whxte and blue w1ll be promrnent Commlttees for th1s event xncluded Marjorre Phxlhps Eleanor Heldenbrand Paul Ken nedy Ernest Tessmer Ierry Koontz Ross Hrm bauqh Evelyn Heldenbrand Norma Sarver and Margle Swartz IS the only new member She was formerly from Canton Oh1o Sophomore Class Class offlcers are Pres1dent Torn Knapp V1ce Pres1dent Vernon Oswald Se retary Paul1ne Sta bauqh Treasurer Mary Ellen Fulmer and Hrstor 1an Dorothy Watson The Sophomore Class has had only a fe major act1v1t1es Namely an tce skatmt, party wh 1 was held Ianuary 14 rn the Iceland Rxnk rn Akron Th outcome was qurte favorable The other act1v1ty was a Bake Sale on Aprl 3 n the Acme Store Our class rs represented 1n the Student Cnanc 1 by Dorothy Watson and Robert Carper Freshman Class The Freshman Class started w1th n1n teen mem bers Later rn the year we acqurred a new mem ber Mary Sturm makrng a class of twenty At the f1rst meetrng ofhcers were elected They were D1ck Domer Pres1dent W1ll1s Slabauqh V1ce Pres1dent Clark Herser Treasurer and Iane Stmckler Secretary In Ianuary we sponsored an all H1gh School party whlch consrsted of games and danctng w1th refreshments later Later on 1n March we sponsored a Roller Skat mg Party at Land O Dance As 1S the usual custom the Iumors welcomed the Freshmen 1nto the H1gh School w1th an 1n1t1at1on party w1th the Iumors on the QIVIHQ end and th Freshmen on the rece1v1ng end It was a party all nn fun and t was espec1ally enloyed by the Iunror 1n1t1ators Wrlhs Slabaugh and Owen Stoll represent our class rn the Student Councrl . s - . .
