EDITORQS MESSAGE As the final page of the Symphony of the Class of '53 comes to a cadence, and the nostalgia of farewells and goodbyes fills the hearts of all the graduating class, we of the Allegro staff recall with great sentimentality the days and nights spent among copy-sheets, india ink and page-sketches in the subterranean editorial room of the yearbook, completing this final epic of our four-year college adventure. It was never lonely in that little room below the lower deck. Always, some member of the staff was busily laboring to beat another deadline, to prepare another assign- ment: it was constantly a bee-hive of activity and music, always surrounded by the dulcet accompaniments of the practicing brassgg, 'woodwinds, tympanists, and of course, the scenery crew and their hammers and sawslf' I E Today all is a happy: memory, The disillusions and the sorrows which contributed to the preparation of our yearbook are all forgotten, and in their place, this final copy of the Allegro is the result of the harmony and ensemble of the entire staff. I am greatly indebted and grateful to all those who have contributed their efforts in making our book a sincere expression of our desire to keep alive the memories of our college days. As Bachelors of Music we shall live according to the highest ideals that our art teaches us. As fellow students we shall always be grateful to our friends andfaculty for their loyal help in making our years at Hartt College the finest years of our lives. A special note of thanks to Mr. Broadhead, who guided us during the entire duration of our efforts, and to all the contributors of the books, thank you, and best wishes from all of us.
