Mrs. Edith Cook English Proofreading the copy, Mrs. Cook prepares to send the High Notes to press. City dump? No, the men’s lounge.

Mrs. Wilhelmina Leach Biology On a biology field trip, Mrs. Leach points out different kinds of grass to her students. Faculty Mrs. Linda Horton Biology Before the Junior-Senior, Mrs. Horton helps Nancy with her dress. Mrs. Vada Gore English During her adult education class. Mrs. Gore helps one of her students with sentence structure. Mr. Curtis Mathematics In charge of the concession stands, Mr. Curtis fills the cups with ice. Mrs. Margaret Gaskins English Mrs. Gaskins supervises the car wash held by the National Honor Society. Mr. David Johnson Principal Avid supporters of the school’s athletic program, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson enjoy a basketball game.

Cafeteria Long lines, stacks of plates, and hot, steaming food greet each student entering the cafeteria to enjoy a rather hurried lunch. Fourth and fifth periods are a busy time for the cafeteria staff as they diligently serve meals to hungry students. During these two hours they are responsible for feeding the over eight hundred students of Hartsville High. The meals are planned by a trained dietician and prove to be tasty as well as nutritious. During the holiday season the staff prepares holiday extras that are appreciated by all the students. Helping: in the kitchen, Mrs. Anthrum and Mr. Jackson stack and dry the trays. Mrs. Mullis, supervisor, goes over the day’s menu with one of the cooks. Mrs. Padgett and Mrs. Bonner receive lunch money from students. 26
