SOUTH CAROLINA . . . OUR PART IN ITS PAST... OUR STAKE IN ITS FUTURE PUBLISHED BY THE SENIORS EDITORS: Betty Alice Baynes Betty Galloway BUSINESS MANAGER: Barbara Goodson SPONSOR: Miss Patricia Williams THE NINETEEN HUNDRED SIXTY-TWO HARTSVILLE 2 retrospect HIGH SCHOOL, HARTSVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA FOREWORD For forty-two years Hartsville High School has existed as an instrument through which future citizens of Hartsville have obtained knowledge, training, and leadership. It has been influential not only in the town of Hartsville, but also in the state of South Carolina. Our state has abundantly provided opportunities for living and working together in a harmonious and satisfying way. Some of the graduates have moved to other states, but many have chosen to accept some of the challenges offered by South Carolina. Now it is 1962, and there are other graduates ready to take their place in the life of our state. They have been trained and guided by a capable staff interested in their welfare. These young people are eager to accept a part in its history and claim a place in its future.
