TRATIVE LEADERS MR. H. H. HILLYER, new principol of Hartsville Junior High School, has the responsibility of encouraging thirty teachers to provide voluoble leorning experiences for approximately nine hundred boys ond girls who compose the student body. MR. DOYLE W. BOGGS, principol of Hartsville High School, shows great initiative ond outstanding administrative ability in meeting the needs and accepting the challenge of a growing student body. In his nine years of dedicated service he has led in the rapid improvement of both the school plant and the curriculum. His interest in each individual student's achievements ond problems has encouraged maximum student development. In the spring of 1958, Mr. Boggs received the Man of the Year award os Hartsville's most outstanding citizen. He is loved by students ond foculty alike because of his genial personality, sincerity, ond loyalty. 17

OUR TIRELESS ADMINIS MR. T. H. ULMER, copoble superintendent of Hortsville Areo Schools, leods this community in recognizing its unfolding educotionol needs and in finding ways to provide for them. His executive obility is evident in his understanding of the problems of teachers and pupils alike and in his sensitivity to changing trends in education. As an educational leader in both the community and state, Mr. Ulmer works tirelessly for instructional improvement. His varied duties include making preparations for expanding enrollments, hiring qualified staff members, planning the school budget economically, and gaining the support of the public for the school program. He is past president of the DCEA and the South Carolina Association of School Administrators. With a cheerful smile and o guiding hand, MR. W. P. CRAWFORD, Dean of Boys, inspires high ideals. In this copacity he combines counsel with praise to effect better student achievement.
