3 ff , IIEEEIIEEEEEEE X 1222221511525 ,X g ' 1 I K 'X S FRESHMAN CLASS HISTORY The Freshman Class of '2-1 entered high school with an enrollment of fifty-three, not a single one of whom proved a Slacker in the initia- tion by the Sophomores three weeks later. The few who were freightened within an inch of their lives recovered soon after. During the entire year the class has been represented in every school activity. Steve Sikaro and VVister Bates ably contended for foot ball honors while the rest of the class helped to furnish pep. Pete Savage had a place on the basket ball quintette and will make the track team. The entire class worked long and faithfully, with every creditable means, and finally succeeded in electing their candidate, Janet Ross, in the Popularity Contest. In the NVho'sNVho Contest, Mae Ganner won the much-sought-for honor of Prettiest Girl and Margaret Kirschstein succeeded in giving herself the honor', of I.aziest Girl. Nevertheless, these did not reflect the class as one of Beauty minus Brainsf, for during the first semester the class scored high in class contests, with fourteen A students. Three members of the Girls' Chorus, Evelyn Davies, Alice Taylor and .Ianet Ross are Freshman. The debating team this year was composed of three freshmen, Regina Roth- baum, Margaret Kirschstein and Janet Ross. Paul XVillis was our con- testant in violin in the R. I. H. C. contests. 'Anita Ingram has received a county-wide reputation as winner of first place in the county poultry show. Finally, the class boasts of having as sponsor, the hardest-boiled teacher of the faculty. VVith the earnest determination which each member of the class now has, one has reason to believe that the class will have a much longer chapter of history, and a more interesting one next year and the years to follow.
