Having a regular fireside chat ' sophomore class officers Elliott Pisor, president; Claudeen Simoens, secretary; Sue Buckingham, treasurer; and vice president Steve Burns discuss the many activities during the year that might appeal to their class¬ mates—the whole gamut from dances to talent shows. The officers then put these ideas into action. Cabrillo challenged Hartnell to a chess tournament and overnight a club was formed for the purpose of checkmating the Seahawks on the board. As it turned out—our best blanked their best, five to nothing. The Hartnell prime movers have now turned to the business of developing their own games with help from adviser Dr. Bedford, seen here demonstrating a good opening.
