E. HARTSOOK Hartnell ' s 1957 football squad started its season with a string of freshman players who later in the season developed into an overpowering, hard-hitting team. Outstanding among the team ' s victories was the 20-14 defeat over San Jose City College whose chances of going to the Junior Rose Bowl were completely shattered by the Panther line. Hartnell ' s 1958 football team should find itself high in standing next year when the entire backfield and many linemen will return to play again under Hartnell ' s maroon and gold. ft ost Valuable players JIM STIREMAN Fullback RICHARD ROHRKE Guard HAL TURNER Halfback I Row 1: left to right, Gary Harris, Al Baguio, Ron Garten, Wayne Handley, Dick Rohrke, Dave Castro.
