Mr. W. E. Reisdorph SECRETARY Mrs. Jelene Williams LIPERI TE DENT'S MESSAGE Our astronauts saw our planet as whole and beauti- ful, an oasis in a cold silent universe, a tiny portion of a system about to be explored. On our continent, the challenge of exploration of new frontiers must be turned by man to develop new ways to improve the quality of human life. The most urgent need in the world today is to make certain that the era ahead will be the Age of Man. Words like tomorrow and the future necessarily guide the planning of today. Very little can be done 'about the present, so we must concentrate upon influencing the future. The problems of today represent the turbulence from yesterday's future. That turbulence must not be allowed to distract American institutions from their primary concern, preparing for the new Age of Man.
