BROADER HORIZONS L. to R.-Daniel Rost, Toby Mahanta, Bobby afWetterstedt, David Feddersen, Mila Albano, Tami Veldboom The students of H.H.S. broadened their horizons during the 1979-80 school year with the addition of 3 foreign exchange students to the student body, Thomas Mahanta, Robert Afwetterstedt, Mila Albano. Tomas Mahanta from Pasig Metro Manila in the Philippines is the son of Jose and Bella Mabanta, his family includes Jolly, Carina, Saby, Macoy, David, and Ben. His U.S. family is Darold and Arlys Rost, Daniel, Darwin, and Arlen. Toby plans to go to college next year and take up agriculture or medicine. Robert Afwetterstedt is from Stockholm Sweden where his family consist of Mam and Gunilla. His family for a year is Mert and Evie Feddersen, Delmer, Dawn, David, Denise and Debbie. Bobby plans to go to college and then the army and finally to relax and enjoy life. Our female addition is Mila Albano from San Juan Metro Manila in the Philippines. Her family there is Assemblyman Rodolf B. Albana and Josefina, Rodolflll, marie Sol, Fmmaniel Antonio, Martina Lourdes. Her family here is Glenn and Norma Veldboom, Tami, Lance, and Randy. Mila plans to attend college next year. These 3 students all thought the highlight of their stay was just meeting the people of Hartley. It has been a great year for all of us to be able to share our Senior year and to grow and learn together. We all hope that the aim of youth for understanding in promoting peace and friendship throughout the world and that the youth of all countries can join hands and live in peace 7
