She attended Sheldon High School and received her Bachelors degree at Grinnell Col- lege in Grinnell, Iowa. She did graduate work at Drake University, the University of Minnesota and the Univer- sity of Iowa. She taught in Sutherland and in Lake Center before coming to Hartley in I 962.' Missing from picture: Kothy Wichmann DEBATE The debate squad had a good record in 1964-65. Of the debaters, seven won letters and 14 won certificates of superior and excellent ratings. Letter winners for the second consecutive year were the four seniors, Larry Enright, captain, Robert Wohl- ert, Gary Gonnerman and Vincent McCarty. Larry was high speaker for the year, with an 8.6 average of a possible 10 points. Three sophomores won letters, Kathy Gonnerman, Kelley Vezina and Michael Anderegg. Two trophies were won and a first-place certificate. The sophomores won the annual Hartley trophy; the seniors tied for first with Maurice-Orange City at North- western College. The contest squad placed first at district contest and tied for second place at state contest. Page Eight
