— I960 ORACLE — LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF THE CLASS OF I960 We, the entire class of I960, composed of 24 young men and 17 young ladies, do hereby bequeath and bestow upon you 54 fortunate or unfortunate juniors the following traits and characteristics, some of which we are proud to pass on to you: I, Becky Bruegmann, leave my love for army men to Marlene Nissen and Gale Ewoldt because army men need someone to write to. I, Keith Meyer, bestow my neatness to Harry Graves so there is someone who looks sharp. I, Kenneth Jipp, will my quietness to Kenneth Kroger so there won't be so much disturbance in study halls. We, Ronald Rachuy and Jon Almgren, will our musical voices to Roger Groff so he too can croon a tune beneath the moon. I, Judy Johnson, leave my talkativeness to Mary Aldrich, Pat Larsen, and Audrey Raber, so it won’t be so quiet next year. Page Seventeen

High School at long last! First of all initiation greeted us. There were fifty-six of us to meet the many surprises of the seniors That year Lynn Huenemann, Kenneth Bohronsen, Kenneth Jipp, Mickey Kraft, Leland Kramme, Curtis Moermond, Ernest Peters, Larry Schvvarting, Larry Staines, Eldon Tewes, Larry Tewes, Marlyn Sterk, LeAnn Harders, Jean Linder, Carolyn Paulson, Mary Lou Peterson, and Joan Philiph joined the rest of us on our way to the top. After three months of a wonderful vacation, we returned to our sophomore year. We started with fifty-four this year. This year we gained Bill Allred and Gary Doherty, but unfortunately lost 1 om Brown, Carla Ebel, 1 erry Dodson, Kenneth Bohronsen, Larry Schwarting, and Beverly De Jager. We entered oui junior year with forty-seven of us. It seems our class was getting smaller all the time. Those who left us were Alfred Nissen, Bill Allred, David Bruns, Lynn Seipp, Gary Doherty, Francis Sampson. We only gained one this year and that was Deana Athens. The biggest event of our junior year was getting ready for our banquet. The theme was “Song in My Heart”. Our last year in good old Hartley High began with forty-two. Norman Fick and Leland Kramme were gone as they had left us in the spring of our junior year. We also lost Bonita Krutzfeldt, Tom Brown, Pat Talkington, Deana Athens, but gained Helen Newberry. Our first big thrill was freshman initiation. Oh, those green little freshmen! Then came homecoming. Sue Snider was queen and Reinhard Riessen was king. Attendants were Joan Philiph and Betty Schmidt. Soon after homecoming came Christmas and a trip to Medlar’s to get our graduation pictures taken. The queen of our Oracle is Becky Bruegmann. We must say good-bye to all those years of fun and hard work. Now we, the class of ’60, must step aside and let the next class take our place. The school life ends for us, but we know another new and different life will begin after we leave on that last Thursday night. Page Sixteen

I, Marge Robinson, will my first chair 1 st alto position in band to Karen Menke. I, Kathie Reikofski, will my ability to explode generators to Linda Meyerink so labs will have some excitement next year. I, Joan Philiph, leave my winning smile to Marilyn McCarty and Lillian Strayer so the class of 1961 can grin and bear it. I, LeAnn Harders, bequeath my typing ability to Grace Rasmussen so Mr. Kelley will have someone to praise next year. I, Reinhard Riessen, leave my bass-blowing ability to Eugene Walrod so he can beller be-bop next year. I, Greg Donnenwerth, will my safety razor to Lynn Byers so he can keep his sideburns trim. I, Sue Snider, leave my cheerleading ability to Esther Denny and Joan Noonan so they can lead the teams to victory. I, Vernon Sherman, lay my cards on the table and pass the bid to Jim Beck so that card playing may remain a major sport in Llartley High. I, Orlan 1 -ux, will my FFA interest to Craig Cooper so the group can thrive. I, Maurice Cummings, would leave my beautiful curly hair to Jim Smith but I want to take it with me. Page Eighteen
