— 1959 ORACLE — SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS Yellow T urquoise Rose and Silver Joon Groen, Treasurer; Lorry Liedtke, Vice President; Rosemary Koostra, Secretory; Roger Wohlert, President. “The future is waiting; let us go forward to meet it” SENIOR CLASS HISTORY On September 3, 1946, thirty-three little boys and girls toddled into the kin- dergarten room of the Hartley School. We were greeted at the door by Miss Norma Totten. The class included Joann Hinz, Joan Kruger, Meredith Linder. Sharon Muilenburg, Mary Olhausen, Barbara Tuttle, Nancy Uhe, Jeanette Watts, Bea Wills, Delores Boetel, Janaan Bryant, K DeBoer, Rajean Henning, Jolene Put- nam, Karen Radcliff, Joyce Selken, Joyce Ann Smith, DyAnn Tibbetts, Ronald Fechter, Norman Fick, Larry Liedtke. Dick Lorenzen, David Muilenburg. Gary Ol- hausen, Larry Steinke, Timothy Roth. Marnie Will, Larry Anfenson, David Bartleson Charles Cooper, Michael Fanning, Jim Jurgens, and Dennis Leth. During the year we lost Sharon Muilenburg, Rajean Henning, and Marnie Will. We gained Kurt Hewitt. We started first grade on September 1, 1947 with Miss Lila Daniels as our guide. There were thirty-four of us to give Miss Daniels trouble this year. We lost Karen Kramme this year, but gained Karen Sue Franker. Phyllis Nissen, Jerry Cav- anaugh, Jimmy Glackin, and Orvie Hansen. We started our second grade on August 30, 1948, and our tribe numbered 34. Judith Heuer joined us the last half of the year. Martha Becker, Carol Krah- ling and Geraldine Jenkins also joined us. Karen Radcliff and Carol Krahling moved away. We were greeted by Mrs. Van Hauen, affectionately known as ‘‘Mrs. Van ”, as we invaded third grade. We were joined this year by Lenie Buddingh, but lost five others: Martha Becker, K DeBoer, Nancy Uhe, Geraldine Jenkins, and Karen I- ranker. Page Fifteen
