FORW RD ln preparing this book we have attempted to tell something of the pas of out High School as well as the happenings of the one year Many people have graduated from Hartland High School and taken their places as citizens of our country Among them are doctors lawyers teachers clergymen farmers tradesmen all various activities of modern life They have become ordinary citizens to civic leaders in their communities and each one in his own wav can trace some of his success to his high school training It has been a good history Curriculum and activities have undergone gradual modifications to meet the needs of a changing society It IS not the same school foday as it was when first conceived but every Graduate can feel proud that he was 1 p rt of it The traditions have been many Passing the key of leadership from graduating class to the incoming seniors may be a small thmg but it is a part of tradition the same as having a team which no matter what its record gives each opponent the best competition it can muster Our Annual through the years has not been the operation of one committee or a srgle group It has been made possible through the cooperation of the student body and everybody in the community as well In order that each volume could be published at a price within the means of every student CIVIC mlnded citizens and businessmen were called upon year after year to sponsor 1ts publication They responded and made lt possible Much credit is due also to other people who were asked or information and ideas to incorporate into each volume people who have backed them financially and morally Our proms dramatic events forensics band athletic teams hot lunch program and many other of the activities which go to make up school life today would never have been possible without this hacking Our task in preparing this annual has been made much easier by the whole hearted support of Mrs Agnes Lull Mrs Marian Gerbenskey and Mrs Grace Hoffman who helped us so much in finding the graduates of past years The Krueger Studios of Hartford made the excellent ndlvidual portraits and many of the Group pictures Phe Lake Country Prmtmg Inc and Mr Hugh Hinderaker have helped us in our layouts and made suggestions for improvement each year as well as taking many of the pictures used Of 1C131S of the Boehm Bindery of 'Vlilwaukee have been helpful in the selection of our first hard cover To all these people we give our heartfelt thanks After this school year Hartland High School will be a thing of the past but those of us who have been a part of it know that our lives haye been effected in many ways Vle do not like to see the end of such a tradition but bow to the vneyitability of progress Those who follow us will have greater opportunities for more xaried experiences and thereby gain richer lives Truly this is the end of an era THE -XNINL -XL STAFF . . t . . , Q 7 V ! 1 V !
