Even in Mechanical Drawing and Industrial Arts beginning math was helpful. Advanced courses in Algebra Trigonometry and Solid Geometry were taken by students who wished to go on to College in the field of Science. United States History was required for all students. The student could also choose World History Citizenship Economics. Sociology and Psychology. Geography was also offered if enough students wished to take it. Thanks to History and Citizen- ship students learned the basic foundation of our land and our government. Econom- ics Psychology. and Sociology' students were taught somewhat how' to cope with everyday problems. There were three foreign languages offered at one time or another to students wanting to take them. They were Latin. French. and Spanish. Each were two year subjects. All business courses were offered here. These included Typing, Shorthand. Ofjice Practice, and Bookkeeping. Typing and Shorthand were also offered in advanced courses. Students who took these courses were prepared to go into most any business office or on to business school. Students who wished to could take Art all four years of high school. Mechanical Drawing and a course in Woodworking was also offered. We must not fail to mention again the Agriculture and Domestic Science courses which were taught here at our high school. These courses enabled the girls to become better housewives and the boys better farmers of the future. These are some of the things that were studied and some that still are, here at Hartland High School. Suhgeets llffered Students Through The Years Spahish. and.French.
