Q mz,srNNAMoN Z Qffhzfff ln behalf of the faculty and the undergraduates may I, your director, extend to each of you my congratulations and best wishes. The education you have received here at Hartford Regional Technical School is only a foundation to be used to build a future of success and happiness. You have within your grasp the power to be- come the person you wish to be. As skill in your trade is developed by the constant repetition of good working habits, personality and char- actor are developed by the little things you do, day-by-day actions which add up to make you the person you are today, the person you will be tomorrow. To most graduates we say you are standing on the threshold of a new day, but to you, graduates of 1958, we say, you are standing tip toe on the brink of a new era, the age of nuclear energy. The dawn of the space ship is glowing on the eastern horizon. What wonders it will hold for you! The skills, knowledge, and attitudes developed by your technical education, enhanced by your general education is the crying need of our country today. The seed of technical education you received here can be fostered and developed to embark you on the flight to the upper echelons of engineering. The hope and future of our country is in the hands of the T958 graduates. We, the administrators and the faculty, have every con- fidence that you will meet the needs demanded of you, will be ex- cellent representatives of our school and will pave the way in industry and the community for graduates who are to follow you. ZM6 ll XSL? Four years ago we entered the portals of Hartford Regional Tech- nical School, a system of education quite different from the grammar schools and junior highs we had just left. Boy! these shops were sumpin! This was the real thing, not just wood work and book cases. In about a month we were adjusted, we learned the ropes and be- fore we knew it, it was time for the annual outing and the end of the school year. ln our Sophomore year we found we were eligible for varsity sports. This year our Beauty Culture girls joined us and we took a very active part in intramural sports. In the Junior year we were members of the student patrol and SAA committees. Wes Swanson was elected president of the Student Activities Association and Connie Bradley was elected secretary, an office later filled, in the senior year, by Carol Lombardo, when Connie left. The Senior Class officers were elected as follows: Bob Proteau, President, Joe Costello, Vice-president, Dick Chasse, Treasurer, Helen Ray, Secretary. What work there was to do! Committees were formed for the year book, senior banquet and on and on. We had a swell time at Hatford Regional Tech and we shall miss it. Uwe f - i N - A ' X
