FOREWORD ICTORY in war is now America's main 5 Sobjective. Every source of strength in our dynamic republic is being trained for the defense of our demo- cratic way of life. Our industries, finance, and agriculture have been bound together in a united effort to obtain Victory. Our living constitution has quickly adapted itself to the present War situation. America is now prepared both internally and externally against blitzkriegs and Pearl Harbor attacks. We have obtained from our school no small part of the education necessary to take our places in the' line of civilian as well as military defense. As our nation, we too must unite all our ideals, energy, and background to gain a Victory which is most important to the young men and Women of America, a personal success, a personal Victory in Life. ,lust as the whole theme of American Life is based on Victory. so we have chosen Victory as the theme of our book.
