cQ v 1978 HARTFORD KEY HARTFORD HIGH SCHOOL WHITE RIVER JUNCTION VERMONT IN MEMORY JOHN DANAHER PHILIP NIC HOLS ROBYN STEPHENS PAUL MAGRONE JEFF HAZELTON JOE PIPPIN ft 2 Death is the only wise advisor that we have. DEDICATION THOMAS V. GUARINO FRANK E. I would prefer to share with you some thoughts that I hope will help to make our next yearbook ' even more meaningful. Of course. I do not mean a school yearbook, but a much more important print-out yourself. I would like to talk with you about what may be important to each of us in the long run-making a dilfcrcncc. Printed below is an essay that says it all. The author is anonymous, but then each of us may be. in our own right, writing this message. MY CREED In some way. however small and secret, each of us is a little mad . . . Everyone is lonely at bottom and cries to be understood: but we can never entirely understand someone else, and each of us remains part stranger even to those who love us. ... It is the weak who are cruel: gentleness is to be expected only from the strong. . . . Those who do not know fear are not really brave, for courage is the capacity to confront what can be imagined. . You can understand people better if you look at them no matter how old or impressive they may be as il they are children. I or most of us never mature: we simply grow taller . . . Happiness comes only when we push our brains and hearts to the farthest reaches of which we are capable . . . The purpose ol lile is to matter to count, to stand for something, to have it make some difference that we lived at all. Peace - bob white ADMINISTRATION FRANK E.
