Principal’s Message My Dear Hartford Seniors: The completion of your high school years is actually the beginning of new careers for each of you. The lessons learned in high school will enable you to encounter and surmount new challenges as you enter your chosen fields of endeavor in employment or higher education. The last four years have provided you with fundamental proficiencies and attitudes so vital in your development as young adults in the finest of American tradition. It is my hope that you see yourselves as participants in a great nation and have a sense of purpose in relation to it. For the concerns and the support and the direction which they have rendered you, your teachers merit your appreciation. Treasure what has been given to you so that you will wish to serve those same values which made possible your education and your freedom as an individual. Your accomplishments in school have been praiseworthy. Continue to conduct yourselves in a positive fashion. As you enter your new careers, search out and explore the multitude of available opportunities. Be ready to adapt to change and bear well the many privileges and responsibilities that will be yours. Dale L. Berne, Principal In your various pursuits I wish you every happiness and success.

Superintendent’s Message The decade of the sixties has ended. A nation born of high ideals is now embroiled into conflict between the ideals of democracy and the practice of democracy. The message of the sixties should be vividly clear to each of you. Youth has a vital share and responsibility in working out solutions that exist in our troubled country. Your educational experience at Hartford High School is a significant foundation for you to build upon towards understanding our fellow man and its institutions. Your enthusiasm, honesty, tolerance, and idealism in the 70’s” is a needed thrust. The next decade will be a better decade because of your participation. Best wishes to you and your commitment. 3 Millard Harrison, Superintendent
