My wishes to the Class of '56 are that in the years following graduation, all your hopes, dreams, and ambitious come true and that your destination on the road to suc- cess is finally reached. As for the underclassmen, the years until your graduation are short, and it has been said, A word to the wise is sufficient. Do not waste those years. Ya., neways. S. this year and got acquainted with the rooms, traffic rules, school customs, traditions, and regulations. The kids from Hartford village joined us this year. Sheila Mock was our presi- dent. We had Miss Young and Mr. Solari for home room teachers. We took part in the Junior High Carnival, sold magazine subscriptions, and made some trips to Boston to the rodeo and Ice Follies with Miss Young. Oh, how we looked up to those Seniors and longed for the day we'd be up there! I Another step up the ladder to grade twelve. This year we welcomed in the kids from Wilder. Our president was Judeen Cameron. Our home room teachers were Miss Cadorette and Mr. Fisk. We gave the Thanks- giving Assembly, had a Junior High Carnival, had our magazine drive, took a trip to Boston to a ball game with Miss Young, had a field day, and presented Orientation Day and copped some speaking prizes. Our really big triumph was the winning of the One-Act Play contest trophy. We beat the Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors with our comedy Alias Janetta. This year we left the H. H. S. building for the new Memorial School. The kids from Queechee, North Hartland, and other towns joined us this year. The uniting of our class into one started this year. Tom Batchelder was our president. Our home room teachers were Mrs. Allen Mr. Solari, and Mr. Drake. We had our ovxm newspaper called the Catamount, and even ayearbook. We had our intramural sports and a few select ones were allowed to play with the H. H. S. teams. We had our own three One-Act Plays and a field day. Up here we were really big shotsl l CLASS CF '56 This year we left back to the old H. H. S. building. The home rooms seem familiar -- the same ones we had in Junior High! Joe DePalo started his long terms of presidency this year. Our home room teachers were Mrs. Allen and Mr. Hatch. The Seniors gave us a Sophomore reception, but we got gypped out of our initiation. Some of us went to the All-State Music Festival in Burlington. We decorated for Baccalaureate services and had the marshals for the Seniors. We were really the underclassmen this year. We had only one trip this -- to Fort Ticonderoga in New York. We broke tradition again and got new and different class rings with stones in them. Joe DePalo is our president again. Our home room teachers were Mrs. Allen and Mr. McPhetres. Our Junior Prom, Spring Magic was successful and we almost made money. Some class members even went on TV to publicize it. We sent five girls and five boys to Girls' and Boys' State. New events this year were our final exams and Career Day. We decorated the gym for the Seniors' graduation. fClass of '55j Only one more year and We'll be walking up the same aislell SENIORS -- We finally made it to the last step. Our president, Joe DePalo, has been about the best and most capable leader any class could ask for. Mr. Fredyma and Mr. Jurras were our home room teachers this year. Senior pictures, invitations, announcements, caps, gowns -- money, money, money!! Our own yearbook, complete with financial worries is finished. Headaches from late hours all added up to Senior essays, mid-term exams, plus finals. lCommonly termed as Senioritus. J But outweighing all these cares is the joy of fine lasting friendships which brought us all closer together. We 'll never forget that final week with Baccalaureate, Class Day, and at last --GRADUATION CLASS WILL We, the class of 1956, in order to form a more perfect school, establish new traditions, secure more fun, promote better faculty-student relations, do hereby establish and maintain this WILL to help bring about these desirable qualities. The Class of 1956 held its Junior Prom on April 29, 1955 with Spring Magic as its theme. Judeen Cameron was prom chairman and the class was divided into various committees. The gymnasium was decorated with blue and white crepe paper, pastel paper carnations, plants, a stone wall effect, and a wishing-well as the center decoration to carry out the theme. With the cooperation of the class and the help of our wonderful advisors, our prom was a success. Judeen Cameron was crowned Queen of Spring Magic and the King was her escort John Hawes. Music was by the Ambassadors. We sincerely hope that the class of 1957 gels as much fun and success from their prom as we did. SE IOR PLAY CATCH THAT SNEE ZEI THE FINISHING TOUCI-IES.
