MEMOIllS Rhythm! Tone quality! Intonation! The old saying of the music teacher that practice makes perfect certainly proves itself. For after rehearsing and practicing for four years, the Senior Class of 1943 emerged with better tone quality and with more rhythm in which to step into the world for their biggest concert of all-their future. In our freshman year, our tempo was at a moderate rate. Miss Elzey and Mr. Kran- ing were our conductors and we moved along smoothly with President Bob Murphy, vice president, Rosalie Iohnsony secretary, Hugh Scott, and treasurer, Helen Honey. Our sophomore year came, and we began improving. Our tones became clearer as Mr. Warner and Mrs. Duncan held the batons. Officers were: President, Hugh Scott, vice president, Evelyn Ann Scheidler: secretary, Rosalie Iohnson: and treasurer, Gerry Needler. As the junior year rolled around, the tempo began to be more rapid. Mr. Billiard and Miss Elzey were our conductors and our officers were: President, Hugh Scott: vice presi- dent, Evelyn Ann Scheidler: secretary, Gerry Needler, and treasurer, Larry Schweier. The spotlight glimmered on the Iunior-Senior Prom and Banquet at the close of the year, while the class play impressed its notes also. Then came the big year! Mr. Mahin and Mrs. Williamson raised their batons! Ray Pemberton was president, Iohn Brothers, vice president: Rhea Stroble, secretary: and Betty Bennett, treasurer. The tempo moved faster and faster! Senior Carnival! Benefit show! Class Play! Prom! Banquet! And then all was still-graduation. Thus ended the Senior Class of 1943 concerts.
