We'll miss you kids we leave behind to fill our empty places, And most of all We'll miss the smile that lights up all your faces. Although our time is nearly spent and closing time is nigh, We'll carry with us memories of dear old Hartford High. Although it's awful hard to say, I guess it's time to scramg So, remember us just as we were when we took our last exam. And now as we leave our cherished school and you, the happy throng, May these walls vibrate forevermore our first and last, SO LONG. Klan, Song, CTo the tune of Paradise? Calvin Waters- A mighty fortress. Math Club, History Club, Sci- ence Club, Social Sci- ence Club, Hi-Y, Varsity Basketball. Dosia Wentz- Where's my dream man? Glee Club, Math Club, History Club, Dramatic Club. Ronald Wiles- The other live wire that blows the fuse. Hi-Y, Dramatic Club, History Club, Social Science Club. Warren Williams - NoW what was her name? Basketball, Base- ball, Math Club. Paul Werry- When we look at his feet, we think oi that beautiful hymn, 'How firm a Foun- dation'. Social Science Club--Pres. '42, Hi-Y, Dramatic Club, Pres. of Class '40, '41, Science Club, Band, Orch., Bas- ketball, History Club. Lawrence Weslie - Hey, where'd he go? History Club, Hi-Y, Band. Betty Williams- All men have their faults. Thurl Willmcmn- A nice unparticular man. Science Club. MARIOBIE BOYLES lt was in September, 1938, that 155 brilliant, young students entered Hartford City High. As Freshmen Mr. Warner and Miss Greene were our sponsors. Our officers were Bill Ervin, president, Paul Werry, v. president, lim Maddox, secretary, Gene Mills, treasurer. During the year, we enjoyed a carry-in supper followed by a party. ln the fall of 1939, 134 of our group returned to compose the sophomore class. Mr. Warner and Miss Greene were again our sponsors. Paul Werry Was elected president, Dick Lyons, v. president, Marjorie Boyles, secretary, and Gene Mills, treasurer. Our ac- tivities of the year included the sale oi tickets for a barn dance and a party. As juniors, We numbered 119. We had waited a long time for this year. We presented The Dark House as our class play and sponsored a movie to further increase our funds. A class party and a Ir Sr. mixer provided our entertainment during the year. Then came the big event-the lr. Sr. prom. Nancy Rogers was elected queen of the prom. Miss Greene and Mr. Telle ably assisted us this year. Our officers were Paul Werry, president, Pat Hendricks, v. president, Molly lane Fulton, secretary, and leanne.Musse1man, treasurer. At last we are SENIORS! We have had many good times and enjoyed every minute of our time in school. Of course there were times when we ran into difficulties, but 99 of us have survived. Again this year, We have Miss Greene and Mr. Telle as sponsors. Our officers are Pat Hendricks, president, lim Maddox, v. president, Marjorie Boyles, secretary, Mary Catherine Sills, treasurer. Our high school days will come to an end with our last jr. Sr. prom and banquet, Class Day, presentation of the Retro, Baccalaureate, and finally Commencement.
