Mr. Kelsay then addressed the l I A sllght confusion arose when a noise which sounded very much like the fire bell was heard There were a few symptoms of panic but when investigation revealed the fact that Miss Short had merely drop ped the set out of her ring peace again reigned supreme A coal shovellng contest was held next Each contestant using the small bucket and shovel which had been presented to him at the door was required to carry coal for ten minutes The contest was won by Miss Wise who carried seventy eight pounds and three ounces After the contest was over Mr Kelsay thanked the teachers for moving the coal as It saved the school the money they would have paid out by hir mg someone He is resting easier today and doctors think he will recover H still insists that the wall caved in on him but we found by inquirin that he had merely been crowned by a crow bar wielded by the mighty but wrathful Miss WISE Mr Telle again unllmbered the old French harp and announced that he would lead them in a few hymns Judging from the horrible sound which issued from the basement he must have led them the wrong way and got lost He announced that the next number would be that grand old song of the Americans and one half of the teachers started to sing the Indian Love Call Mr Broyles who was chalrman of the menu committee then announced that lunch would be served After they had all assembled around the table they produced the silverware which each person was required to bring It is remarkable how some of our teachers have travelled' Their silverware came from some of the best hotels in the country from coast to coast Miss Jones even had a fork that was When the guests began to look expectantly for the food Mr Broyles Just larfed and larfed because lt was April Fool s Day and there wasn t any lunch He s ln room 13 and we re afraid he s going to recover too The doctors seem to think so Well after the removal of the body the old French harp was again sent into action and a square dance was held Miss Furney and Mr Fisher proved themselves champions at tripping the light fantastic I say trlpplng because Mr Fishers feet were old friends and were con tlnually meeting each other The party broke up about 3 A M and amidst gleeful shouts of laughter they climbed into thelr slelghs and drove to their various homes Everybody not at the party reported a good tlme The teachers who attended expect to resume their duties next week FRANCIS CRISSMAN 26 imnullml lllllllllu, fl o I u . . - - e stamped Hartford Hotel.
