squad. John Salsburg made the Senior Varsity Basketball team while John Finnegan and Donald Barkasy were appointed managers. Mr. Davis guided our ship during our Junior year which will always be remembered as one of the most memorable. Our big event was the Junior-Senior Prom, with the theme, Springtime Serenade. Shelia Stubblebine was crowned Queen of May. September, 1956, we took the unofficial oath of office as Seniors. A dream came true for all of us. We were introduced to our class advisors Mrs. Symons and Mr. Ostroskie. Elected as class officers were, John Salsburg, President, Donald Barkasy, Vice Presi- dent, John Neizgoda, Secretary, Thomas Brozena, Treasurer. Echoes, our Yearbook was placed under the development of Editor Pat Offshack, Co-editor Marilyn Jesse, Photography Antion- ette Roskowski, Business Manager Faith Conway, Co-Business Mana- ger Margaret Crawford, Typists, Margaret Crawford, Pat Mikulski, and Dorothy Welch. Our social activities seemed to be filled with new excitement, anxiety and expectations. On October 24th., our Masquerade Dance uncovered new personalities. On December 12th., 'The Senior Mistletoe Hop was honored by Santa Claus. February 6th, displayed talents before unknown with the presenta- tion of the class play The Perfect ldiot. One week later, the Sweetheart Dance was held and the Queen of Hearts and her attendants honored. The Juniors honored us at their annual Prom and the Queen of May was crowned. This event preceeded Moving Up Day on May 24th. Exciting, but realistic were the next few days of our trip to New York, back to Harter, up and down the aisles in rehearsals and finally, Graduation Day, June 4th., 1957. Our School Journey ended, a new journey beginning, we the Senior Class of 1957 face the future with great Enthusiasm, Cour- age and Faith, Faith in the world, and people, but mostly Faith in ourselves, for within Ourselves, Our Future Lies.

Class History As our years began to multiply, we suddenly found ourselves enter- ing the ninth grade. Many new experiences awaited us and we took full advantage of them. The girls became eligible for the Glee Club and Future Homemakers of America. Imagine how proud we were when told that Antionette Roskowski had been elected to the office of the Vice -Presidency of the Future Homemakers of America IGP' resenting the State of Pennsylvania. This was the beginning of our huge manuscript of memoirs. More national honors were bestowed upon us when Joan Mallis was awarded recognition in a national high-school poetry contest for the entry of her peom, Sunset, Sports captivated our boys during this busy year as well it did the girls. Ten of our girls were chosen for the Junior Varsity Cheerlead- ers. With the formation of a Student Government, four of our members qualified both scholastically and socially for membership: Faith Conway, Dorothy Sundy, Antionette Roskowski, John Salsburg. Aesthetically, our school was enriched by the inception of a band tmder the direction of Mr. Ostroskie. Our class contributed five of the original ten members: Leonard Sincavage, John Salsburg, Ardith Stubblebine, Patricia Offshack, and Dorothy Sundy, This was the foundation we had built for our big step into our new house, The Senior High School. Our sophomore year was brighten- ed once more by the announcement that Dorothy Sundy had emerged as one of the four finalists in the. Employ the Handicapped con- test. Class Poem T'was only yesterday, it seems, We greeted our school, with hopes and dreams. A home to us for many years, Perhaps that's why we'11 leave in tears. The friends we 've made the things we've done, Have brought us together, and made us one. We are molding our lives, for the future you see, For what the child is , the man will be. Some have found love, but greater still, Hatter you've given us, understanding and will. To go ahead, to be strong and wise, For ahead, not behind, our future lies.
