CLASS POEMS fcontinuedl We came to you, Oh, HARTER HIGH just four short years ago Our aims and ideals there did lie Your beauty you did bestow. Something new each year you taught To help us in this world of strife Each new adventure we did rought Was a symbol for our future life. Now that we're finished and must say adieu Our hearts are saddened with an unfinished theme The things, and the memories are many of you These things are compiled in a beautiful dream. The world awaits with open arms to claim us one by one You'll guide us, help us, keep us from harm Until our job is finished and life is done. Andrew Honko 12

Clam Poemf In a valley, near a river, with the mountains high and near, Stands a tall and noble building, that we all hold very dear, The moulder of our futures, the makers of our past, Our Alma Mater will remain, in our hearts, till the very last. In the fall of 47, we started down education's well-worn path, For the next four years, we labored, with English, History, and Math., And now is the year of '51,we emerge, to seek our fortune, Each one, to take from the spice of life, a well-earned and goodly portion We all have high hopes, great ideals, and lofty plans, The rest of our lives, we know, must be sha, ed by our own hands, What we have been, what we will be, and what we are, Has been, will be, is, fixed on a goal, like an eye on a star. We're happy we're leaving, to start a new life on our own, But we're sorry we're going, because for a while we'l1 feel all alone, Without old friends and classmates, dear to every heart, A happy day and also a sad day, is this, when we must part. Many will be the days, these happy school days, we will yearn, Many will be the times, that we'll wish we could return, But now is the hourg the very last one, When we must end our studies and scholarly fun. So, Now, each one in this class bids a fond adieu, To all of our classmates and friends, and, Old Harter, to youg We can only hope that these halls will sound a little less gay, When we, the class of '51, have finally gone away. We hope we'll be remembered, pleasantly, too, For we'll never forget Harter, and always be true, And as we traverse down each one of 1ife's lanes, You can be sure, that in our hearts, our Alma Mater reigns.
