Many people associare foorboll and girl's basketball as Fall sporrs, bur so is cross counrry. The ream ran wirh seven guy runners, and two lady pirares. Coach Dove DuMonre srared, “They were rhe funniesr ream I had.” DuMonre especially commenred on rhe way rhey improved each rime. Tom Johnson was elecred as ream caprain, and Calvin Ackley as mosr valuable player. The biggesr rhrill was having rhree runners in rhe rop ren or rhe Oceana County Invitational. They were os follows: Calvin Ackley, Reid Sisson, and Troy Gebharr. Two runners, Calvin and Reid, earned medals, raking rhird place overall. Four of Fall Runners Show Marked Improvemenr our runners made All-County: Calvin Ackley, Reid Sisson, Jenny Syer, and Corhy Ackley. Colvin Ackley, Jenny Syer, and Carhy Ackley ran away wirh All-Conference. Carhy ond Jenny also rook firsr and second in rhe counry meer. One person rhe ream will miss, is senior, Carhy Ackley. Corhy also had All-Region, and All-Store. She ser five course records rhis season ar White Cloud, Harr, Wesr Shore, Shelby and Newaygo. She also earned rhe recognition of ''Athlete of rhe Week , by WZZM-TV. The ream did very well though, according ro coach DuMonre.
