Foreword We, the class of 1966, present this HARTLAN in remembrance of our high school days. We have worked and played together for four eventful years. As we leave we will take with us this small record of the successes, failures, joys, and disappointments we have experienced through the years. The staff, composed of seniors and juniors, has spent many hours in planning this book and in carrying out the many detailed tasks necessary to make it a reality. An attempt has been made to feature the highlights of the school happenings. The staff endeavored to select activities involving as many students as possible, realizing at the same time that many more events important in themselves deserved space as well. It is the hope of the staff that the 1966 HARTIAN will prove a source to refresh many memories of your high school years. 2

Dedication MR. HARVEY WEAVER We, the graduating Seniors of 1966, dedicate this book to a person who we feel has done much both for the school and for our community. As we started our high school days, he served as our class advisor. Through hard work and patience in the classroom, he provided us with a good basis for science and mathematics. Continuing his devotion to the younger generation, he has directed the Hart Youth Recreation Program in the summer for several years. He taught many of us to swim and perhaps even to save our own lives. Last but not least, this man has coached our basketball and track teams for a number of seasons, and has also served as an assistant football coach. To him, good sportsmanship is the most important reward one can derive from athletics. As a token of our appreciation, we gratefully dedicate this Hartian to Mr. Harvey Weaver. 4
