Student Council Back: Nancy Wyckoff, Ida Merten, Sharon Tice, Tom Gowell, Gwen Van Domelen, Karen Turner, Mary Schramm, Sandra Mack, Dan Herrygers, Raymond Landis Front: Pat Foster, Mary Pider, Mr, Johnson, Geoff Robinson, Mr. Robinson, August Herrygers The student governing body of Hart High is the Student Council. It is made up of two representatives elected by their respective classes, Junior High through the twelfth grade. Our officers elected by the whole school are Geoff Robinson, president; August Herrygers, vice-president; Pat Foster, secretary; and Mary Pider, treasurer. Our sponsor is Mr. Edwin Johnson. Our treasurer reports that the money is fast dwindling, so the classes are pledging twenty five dollars each for the use of the Council. Our activities this year have consisted of the election of the second team cheerleaders; the administering of the Homecoming festivities as the snake dance and pep rally the night preceding the Home -coming and the election of the Homecoming queen, Marilyn Schaner, and the Homecoming dance; Dads' night; placing a suggestion box in the study hall. We have rented a juke box for the gym and sponsored the Care program for our school. Our present activities consist of taking care of the noonhour activity such as dancing, volleyball and basketball. We are getting ready for the Sweetheart's Ball which we co sponsor with the FHA. Informa tion is being collected in regard to establishing a student court. Clean-up week including Bums' Day and Dress-up Day; student assemblies, talent show, exchange assemblies; noonhour basketball tournament; revision of our constitution and the organization of some sort of girls' athletics for which there is a popular demand are future considerations of the Council. i Wll
