DEDICATED to the MEMORY of MARILYN FAY WESTRATE 1936-1952 There is a mystic borderland that lies Just past the limits of our work-day world And it is peopled with friends we met And loved, a year, a month, a week, or day, And parted from with aching hearts, yet know That through the distance we must loose the hold Of hand with hand, and only clasp the thread Of memory, but still so close we feel this land. So.sure we are that these same hearts and true, That when in waking dreams there comes a call That sets the thread of memory aglow; We know that just by stretching out the hand In written word of love, or book, or flower, The waiting hand will clasp our own once more, Across the silence, in the same old way. “Sweet as the tender fragrance that survives, When martyred flowers breathe out their little lives; Sweet as a song that once consoled our pain. But never shall be sung again. Is thy remembrance. Now the hour of rest Hath come to thee. Sleep, loved one, it is best.” -Henry W. Longfellow ADMINISTRATION COURT HOUSE Board of Education BOARD OF EDUCATION These men unselfishly take time from their busy lives to plan for our present and future school needs.
