He thought that being in a dif- ferent country for one year would be a great ex- perience for him However, Olav will receive no credit for this year and he will have to return to Nor- way next year and finish his senior year. While in Hartwell, Olav is staying with Mark Hesselgrave and his family. Olav has plans to keep in touch with them when he returns to his country. Although he is 5,000 miles away from home, homesickness has not been a problem for him. Naturally, he misses his mother, father, and the rest of his family and he will be happy to see them again. Olav has missed his girlfriend, Laila, the most while he was away from home Olav is a very outgoing person However, he answered the questions about American girls very shyly. He said the main difference between Norwegian and American girls was that American girls were more concerned with their appearance. He also added that they were more aggressive. Olav com- mented that dating was very formal in America In Norway, girls and guys go out together, but they don't consider it a date They just have a good time The end of the year has come and we must say good-bye. Olav Viske will not only be remembered as our first exchange student, but as our friend. 124 Sally Ride lames Watt The Day After M A S H Mr. T.
