This year we dedicate the book to the most important individual at Hart County High School. Throughout our years in high school we are affected by many people. Few of the many leave such a lasting impres- sion as this special man. One faculty member provides us with a healthy balance of affection, concern, discipline, guidance and love. From him we learn many things, not the least of which is how to be responsible, dedicated human beings . . . Hardly anyone leaves HCHS without learn ing to imitate his legendary drawl; no one escapes these hallowed halls without having been touched by him in some very special way. During our four years here we come to respect, admire and care for him. It is for this reason that the 1983 Memoir is dedicated to Mr. Jerry L. Robinson. Sr. WJe thank you for making our high school experience worthwhile. 15 16 Every job is a challenge. The very important job of superintendent of schools is no exception. The person in this office is responsible for many people and many daily time consuming tasks. Mr. Edwards fills the shoes of this office quite admirably. There is no one involved in any aspect of the school, whether it is teacher, staff, student or administrator, who does not feel and appreciate the good things done for HCHS by Mr. Edwards. His is often a thankless responsibility, and we would like to take this space to thank him for his efforts to insure that the school system of Hart County is run smoothly and effectively. No less important is the job of the school board. We thank them also. At Left: Mr. Vernon Edwards. Superintendent BOARD MEMBERS — Left to Right: Mr. King. Mrs. Hughes. Mr. McMullen. Mrs. Jerrell. Ha County High was not only the place where we obtained our education, it was also the place where we accomplished our goals that we had s for ourselves the first year we were here. It was where we spent the best years of our lives in the good times and the bad. Life is hard o teenagers and the juniors of 1983 will always remember Hart County High for getting us through those hard times. We will always cherish the memories of our first year at HCHS. 69 Sharon Adams Dewitt Alexander Yolanda Allen Rodney Ashworth Renee Bailey Tina Adams Tyson Alexander Denise Anderson Robin Atkinson Scotty Bailey Jimmy Akins Earlene Allen Kelly Anderson Michelle Bailey Robert Baker Tiffany Alderman Happy Allen Stephanie Anglin Melissa Bailey Patti Banister Neil Alexander Tina Allen Angie Ankerich Penny Bailey Randy Bannister 70 — Freshmen Terrell Barnes Chris Benson Tracy Blewitt Chris Borders Allison Bradford Randy Barnett Darryl Blackwell Larry Boles Freddie Bowman Rusty Bradford Daryl Bartlett dona Blackwell Tami Boles David Bowen Steven Brewer Annette Beard Jerry Blackwell Ken Bond Ray Bowen Teresa Brewer Angie Beggs Sean Blasingame Steven Bonnet Dorothy Bowers Donald Brock Freshmen — 71 Diane Brown Stewart Brown Beth Burden Tammy Byrum Angie Carey Dennis Brown Tracy Brown Carol Burdette Teresa By rum Jeff Carey James Brown David Bryant Dana Burdette Doug Campbell Tony Carey Nancy Brown Murphy Bryant Stephanie Burton John Campbell Shirley Carithers Stacy Brown Melissa Buffington Andre Butler Randy Cape Brian Carruth 72 — Freshmen Kelly Carter Russell Childs David Cobb Darren Craft Mandy Cromer Kelly Cato Brian Chitwood Tracy Cobb Dwayne Craft Lisa Crock Marc Cawthorn Crystal Chitwood David Collins Sharon Craft Beck Crump Connie Chappelear Debbie Christain Keith Cordell Stacy Craft Jim Crump Gene Childs Gidget Christain Charles Craft Mai Crittendon Steve Crump Freshmen — 73 Larry Cunningham Rodney; Davis David Dockery Randy Driver Roger Dutton Clifford Curry Ron Dawkins Lamar Donald Courtney Drye Tracy Dutton Carl Dalton Yvonne Dean Eric Dooley Renee Dunn Kevin Edwards Andre Daniel Donna Dickerson Joey Dorsey Donna Dutton Elaine Elgin Trina Darrette Donnie Dickerson Gladys Drinkard Joyce Dutton Angie Ellison 74 — Freshmen Deana Ethridge Jim Gaines Marti Glenn Frankie Gray Wanda laney Donnie Ethridge Lisa Gaines Kim Goldsmith Daryl Greenway Holly Harmon Cristal Fowler Mike Gaines Steve Goldsmith Charlotte Gulley Mark Harris Donna Fleeman Rhonda Gearing Kris Graham William Gunnells Vicki Harris Beth Fowler Samantha Geter Brian Gray Doug Hailey Jeffrey Hart Freshmen - 75 Richie I layworth Glenn licks Mark Hill Pam Hornick Matthew Jackson Annette Haygood Mark Hicks Tracy Hill Todd Horsley Jennifer Jackson Frankie I leaton Donnie I lill Melissa Holland Lisa I lunt Rosalyn Jackson Adam I lerring Eddie Hill Natalie I lolland Jamie Isom Frankie Johnson anessa I lester Francis lill Wendell I lolland David Ivester Lisa Johnson Freshmen Fabian Jones Shirley Jones Billy Kutulas Michelle Lee Keith Machs Mark Jones Todd Jones Deana Kuykendall John Lee Kristy Macris Martha Jones Sande Keefe Greg Lawrence Cindy Leverette Greg Martin Jacob Jones Cissy Kelly Kim Lecroy David Little Melissa Martin Ronnie Jones Angel Knighton Mike Lecroy Steven Lunsford Alan Martin Freshmen — 77 Ann Marie Mauldin Vandona McCurry Gary Mize Pam Moore Michael Newton Melissa Maxwell Sherry McDowell Eric Montier William Moore Tippy Newton Van McCorkle Pam McGee Susan Moon Bobbie Morris Sheryl Norris Charles McCurley Stacy McGee Suzette Moon Derek Morrison Kim O 'Dell Rhonda McCurley Tim McLane Dwayne Moore Billy Murray Keith Oglesby 78 — Freshmen Michael Oglesby Michael Parham Stephen Pearson Jeff Ramsey Lara Richardson Todd Oglesby Tina Parker Kim Pilgrim Russell Reed Rhonda Richardson Joey Osborne Richard Partain Neal Powers Stephanie Reed David Robertson Terry Outz Edward Pass Stacey Powell Shannon Reid Molly Robinson Wendy Owens Penny Patterson Sonja Pullian Donna Richardson Keith Rucker Freshmen — 79 Pam Rucker Tammy Sanders Benji Sayer Ronnie Sherman Lisha Simpson Sherry Sadler Valerie Sanders Mark Saylors Brian Shiflet Mike Sims Grant Sanders Chad Sanford Dauid Seymour Tony Shirley Kristi Skelton Missy Sanders Morris Savage Tracy Shaw Dawn Simpson Parke Skelton Sonya Sanders Carey Saxon Danette Sherriff Eric Simpson Kimberly Smith 80 — Freshmen Luther Smith Euladee Stowers Carrie Surrency Shannon Teasley Ernest Thomas Roger Smith Randy Stowers Steven Sulton Tim Teasley Cindy Thompson Scott Smith Reginald Stowers Andre Swilling Tammy Teel Patrick Thornton Rhonda Sosebee Kevin Strange Caroline Tate Susan Temples Annette Tucker Eric Starks Bonnie Surrency Ginger Teasley Teddy Temples Jeff Tucker Freshmen — 81 Brent Vickery John Wieler Kathy Wilson Sidney Walker Robert Wieler Robin Wilson Larry Welbom Becky Williams Tina Wilson Anthony Turner Lisa Welbom Angie Wilson Wanda Wright Krista Turner Marcie Wicker Anna Lisa Wilson Grant York 82 — Freshmen One of the projects of the Photography Club this year was sponsoring a Crazy Photo contest. They had the time consuming task of managing the newspaper staff under thetr direction. They had the headache of designing the paper, deciding what to put in it. covering the necessary events, boning up on the clubs' activities, and actually putting the paper together. The management of the staff fell to Russ Sanders this year in his position as editor Russ delegated responsibility and assignments with the ability of a professional. His insightful editorials were assets to the paper. Ms. Williams, as advisor, provided the helpful suggestions and discipline that were a must for the production of the excellent paper that the staff provided. She gave encouragement when the staff was down, firmness when they were too playful and in- credible amounts of knowledge that the staff appreciated. The other editors added many new and exciting features to the paper to make it worth more than the quarter we gladly handed out. The copies of the Hi-Life are proud momentos of all our achievements and high lights. Editorial Board Pictured at Right Kneeling Russ Sanders — Editor. Traci Bailey — News Editor. Janice Pickens — Head Ti pist 102 The members of the Hi-Life Staff worked as hard as their editors to produce the newspaper we all hold so dear as an accurate account of this eventful year. They not only had to put up with the angry tyrants who ruled them, but the whims of the student body being represented by them. It is a thankless task that they performed for us. but they did it well. These young journalists deserve every pat on the back for being the responsible and dedicated young people that they are. We all enjoyed the interesting news articles, the exciting feature columns, the accurate sports information, the humorous Dear Wilbur Column and the especially memorable Senior Section in the fourth issue of the paper. They added a new look to the paper's physical appearance by switching publishers. They added more pages packed with more news and features. They added new ideas and columns which were fun to read. Providing us with student Sweethearts and faculty Sweethearts (which we never knew existed), the Hi-Life Staff gave us an extra something to look forward to in the Valentine issue of the paper. As far as this jour- nalist is concerned, all of the Hi-Life members are the real sweethearts of HCHS. We appreciate the hard work, long hours and dedication of them all. HOW BOUT THEM HI-LIFE DAWGS! These men helped the younger ones in their charge learn many things about the game of football, good sportsmanship, winning with grace and losing with dignity. Their job was more than calling the plays in the height of the game and teaching new ones on the practice field. By their fine example and words of wisdom, they began the process of molding character, strength, maturity and instilling the qualities of true manhood into the young people of their teams. The players on the team, the cheerleaders, the parents, the band, the student body and the faculty look up to these men with respect and admiration for not one. but many, jobs well done.
